MUSE!

IT IS A CRIME THAT I HAD THE EPIC BLESSING THIS YEAR OF SEEING MUSE THREE TIMES, AND HAVE NOT SUFFICIENTLY CONVEYED THE EXPERIENCE TO ANY OF YOU GUYS.

I'm not sure anyone really gets how much I freaking adore Muse. They're my Number 2 just behind Adumb. Yeah MCR, you're going to have to be unbelievably epic live if you're gonna win that spot back. xD

My life has been so ridiculously hectic and stressful lately, it hurts just to think about. I don't even really have time to make this entry, I'm sacrificing sleep instead. I'm not going to go into another capslock rant post about it, so I'll simplify by saying that this is what I feel like pm every moment of every day ~

But I wasn't like that last night, no siree! Last night I was rocking the fuck out with Muse and loving every second of it, because during that hour and a half while they were playing, nothing else mattered. I could actually genuinely forget about my piles of homework and college applications and IT. WAS. GREAT.

The way the show was set up was with three giant towers on the stage - one for each band member. They started the show standing up high in the middle of the towers and looking over the audience. The surface of the towers both above and below where they were standing doubled as video screens.

It's too awesome to describe. xD I found this video someone took from the pit of the first show I went to, back in March - It has their intro and first song, Uprising. There were sheets covering each of the towers that had images being projected onto them before the band started playing, and right as the intro ends and they kick into their first song, the sheets fall away and you see Muse standing in the middle of the towers. SOFA KING EPIC. <3_<3

My own videos taken from the show last night (my camera kinda sucks, I know :P)  The bottom half of the towers where the band members were standing, would sink down into the stage so the guys could be on the ground, with just the top half of the towers remaining. I took this during Citizen Erased.

And for some songs like here, they would rise up on the towers again. Here they're playing United States of Eurasia, with Matt on the piano/singing on the left tower, Dom in the middle, and Chris on the right one.
~my camera cut off in the middle >.<  Piece of crap.~

What may have been the most surreal show was when my mom and I were traveling around Germany in the summer, and for one weekend we flew up to Bergen, Norway, to see the one band epic enough for my mom to want to do this for ~~

The European show was a lot different. I found videos other people there took - here's one of Starlight.

(Fun fact - One thing that's especially awesome about Norway is that it's almost never night there. The concert was from about 9 to 11, and you can see how much daylight there still was.)

The venue was HUGE OMFG and the crowd completely filled it all the way to the back. There were some 20,000 people there in that general admission venue. And the really cool thing was that this concert was giant, and Muse had had a show scheduled in Sweden a few days before that had to get cancelled - so a ton of people who were supposed to go to that show trekked over to this one. Bergen is a pretty tiny town, and that whole weekend it seemed like it was overrun with Muse fans. Wherever we went, we would see people with Muse shirts. And when that many people were leaving the venue after the show and emptying out onto the one little main street? It was like a freaking tidal wave of people. There was just this sea of people moving down the street, and cars had to stop and couldn't even move at all because there were just SO. MANY. PEOPLE. I have never seen that huge of a crowd in my life, it was unbelievable.

Even though the crowd was so huge, we were pretty far up close. :3 Of course my camera died on me like 2 seconds after I got it out, but here's a little video I took of Supermassive Black Hole, and you can still see how intenseawesome it was.

You'd better believe I was jumping my little feet off. :DD I love being in general admission crowds for a band like Muse - where everyone has to jump and scream and singalong and there's just this tangible, powerful energy everyone's sharing that's just incredible.

You know what I mean, right? It's the reason I love concerts so much. :)

ANYWAY! I'm going to wrap up this little flail recap before I fall asleep on my keyboard. I will leave you with this oh-so-lulzy video of Matt, which needs to be seen by all.
