"What, really? That's wonderful!!!”

Jung Yunho sprang out of a rather peaceful sleep when a surprised shout made its way from the small den of the apartment all the way to his bedroom. This happened on a regular basis, but it didn't mean he enjoyed the rude awakenings. He groaned and fell backwards, hoping sleep would come quickly so his crazy roommate wouldn't come in and talk to him since he “was already up anyway” as he so lovingly put it when situations like this happened.

"Yunho-hyung?”

Well, shit. So much for that.

A sigh. “What is it, Junsu?”

"Jaejoong-hyung just called, apparently the prom isn't going to be canceled! It was some prank someone was playing on the seniors!” Junsu cheered as he plopped down on the foot of Yunho's bed. The one who was actually laying down decided to sit up and give his roommate a look... One that would normally send the younger male running, but had no affect whatsoever on the cheery male today. He frowned.

"Okay... well that just means I can take Hyun-Ji2.” He flashed his trademark grin before kicking Junsu off of his bed and out of the room so he could get dressed to visit said girl.

As Junsu walked out, he glanced back at his friend and sighed. He really wanted to tell his hyung about Jaejoong's secret, but knew if he did the elder male would come after him with a vengeance [not to mention whack him with a spatula3]. That thought cracked Junsu up and he quickly went to his room to get changed into something more suitable for visiting someone.

"Hyun-Ji?” Yunho called as he knocked on the door once more. She wasn't answering the door and it was beginning to worry him. He sighed and shoved his hands into his pockets, waiting for the younger female. He smiled at the thought of seeing her again; she was a very beautiful girl. Her eyes were a light brown, she had delicate tan skin and her black, silky hair was irresistible. Yup, Yunho had quite a catch. But even so... something was missing; Yunho had never been able to figure it out, so he figured it wasn't very important.

"I'm sorry Yunho!” The door opened quickly and revealed the very girl Yunho was smiling about. Hyun-Ji smiled prettily and batted her eyelashes at the sexy man in front of her. Many labeled her as a slut or sometimes something even worse, but Yunho usually fended them off.

Hyun-Ji moved aside and let Yunho inside her small apartment. There was a small sofa, coffee table and television in the den, then connecting to it was the kitchen with a small island in the middle for preparing food. The only bedroom the apartment had was behind the kitchen and the bathroom was attached to the south side of the bedroom.

Yunho breathed in deeply and sighed as he smelt the wonderful smell of the girl's kitchen. His stomach growled loudly and Hyun-Ji giggled, covering her pink lips with a small hand. “Sit down, I'll make you something.” She smiled sweetly. Yunho did as he was told and plopped onto the girl's small sofa and watched her move in the kitchen.

Yup, he couldn't wait to surprise her with the good news about the prom.

The air was tense as Jaejoong stared down the younger male known as Kim Junsu as they both stood in the former's kitchen. The spiky haired male gulped at the stare he was getting and looked down. Luckily it all ended when Yuchun, Jaejoong's roommate, walked in with an empty bowl to put in the dishwasher. Junsu breathed in shakily and grinned nervously over at Yuchun, who only gave him a confused look.

"You promise you didn't tell him?” Jaejoong questioned again. Junsu nodded, his eyes still on Yuchun who was now laughing at the ridiculous situation. “Fine. I believe you then.” Finally the usual smile Jaejoong reserved for his friends appeared and Junsu relaxed, which only made Yuchun laugh harder. This earned him a look from both Junsu and Jaejoong.

"So do you have a date, Joongie?” Yuchun pulled himself up onto the small island in the kitchen. Jaejoong shoved him off and wiped the part Yunchun had been sitting on clean as if he'd diseased the poor counter. Yuchun and Junsu exchanged glances and rolled their eyes simultaneously.

"No, I don't and I'm not going.” He replied stubbornly. The two younger men looked at him, their mouths hanging open in surprise. Yuchun closed his mouth and began to say something until Jaejoong held up a hand and spoke again, “Even if I did have a date, I wouldn't be going.”

"But hyung!” Junsu pleaded. Jaejoong just shook his head and got more Windex to clean up the spot where Yuchun sat on the counter top. He scrubbed it really good and then began to make a sandwich for himself. Junsu only shook his head when the mothering Jaejoong offered to make him a sandwich as well.

"But nothing. I'm not going.” They both began to say something again, but Jaejoong glared.

"Period.”

"If you'll tell us why, we'll leave you alone about it.” Yuchun grinned, knowing this would get the older man to admit why he wouldn't go. The brown haired male sighed and shook his head.

"Because he's going with her.” He spat vehemently. Junsu frowned, crossing his arms.

"Who's going with who?” Another voice piped up from across the room. Yuchun jumped a few inches off the ground, Junsu gasped and held his chest while Jaejoong just gave the young man a dangerous look.

"Ever heard of 'none of your business' before?” Jaejoong replied. Shim Changmin, Yuchun and Jaejoong's other roommate, grinned as he walked up to the three standing in the kitchen.

"Not really.” He replied sarcastically, knowing this would get Jaejoong mad.

"It applies to this situation because it's none of your business.” The brown haired male replied with a quick roll of the eyes. Junsu and Yuchun chuckled slightly, but kept their distance. Changmin, who was 2 years younger than the rest of them, was also much stronger than any of them and had on numerous occasion put bruises on all three of them from just play-punching back and forth.

Changmin showed no emotion on his face, which scared Junsu and Yuchun. He was usually very bright and cheery, snarky maybe, but still in a good mood most of the time. The dongseng grinned cutely and then grabbed Jaejoong's sandwich from his hands and began eating it. Jaejoong frowned and crossed his arms. He'd worked hard to fix that! Changmin munched on the sandwich, happy that it contained nothing spicy.

He shrugged and began working on another one. All the while Junsu and Yuchun were in shock at how the two were acting towards each other. Although they should be used to it by now, this is how it always was; it varied from day to day. One day Changmin and Jaejoong would be nice to each other to the point of being gross and the next they'd be at each others' throats ready to strangle one another. Junsu giggled and leaned against the island while Yuchun shook his head.

A gentle hum then a rock song floated out of the living room signaling Jaejoong that someone was calling his cellphone. He raised an eyebrow and then walked over to the table beside the beige sofa in his small den. He picked the blue and silver phone up and looked at the caller id. His eyes widened and then a grin spread across his face, which only meant one thing - Yunho was on the other end.

"Hello?” Jaejoong spoke into the phone after pressing the button to accept the call and lifting it to his ear. Yuchun, Junsu and Changmin couldn't help but start snickering. He made his voice sound so dreamy every time he picked up the phone to talk to Yunho. Usually if any of the three now laughing were calling they would get a simple, “What?”. Seriously, Yunho was luckier than he knew. Which is probably the reason the three behind Jaejoong were laughing.

"Yes, I'll be here. Can't wait.... Yeah, see ya in a few.” He moved the phone away from his ear and pressed the button to end the call. He sounded much more somber when hanging up, but only Junsu and Yuchun noticed. Jaejoong whirled around on the other three and gave them a dangerous look, much like the one he'd given Junsu earlier... only a lot more terrifying.

"Stop snickering, dammit!” Jaejoong growled, making a swipe across the island at the other three. They all successfully avoided it, but Changmin was the only one still laughing. The young male grabbed a can of salted cashews and then walked to his bedroom. Junsu followed after him, already asking if he could play the Wii that Changmin had saved up to buy several months ago. Yuchun and Jaejoong were left alone in the kitchen.

Jaejoong, however, was in his own little world. A world where Yunho was in love with him and it was Hyun-Ji pining after him rather than Jaejoong. He sighed deeply and cradled his head in his hands. Yuchun wanted to help his friend, but what could he do? The other had forbidden both Yuchun and Junsu from telling Yunho... even hinting was punishable. And believe me, you do NOT want Jaejoong punishing you.

"Jung Yunho... I demand you give me my heart back.” Jaejoong whispered, voice muffled by his hands. Yuchun frowned and placed a comforting hand on the elder's shoulder. “Its fine, Chunnie, I'll get over it. I always do...” But this time Jaejoong wasn't so sure. You see, Jaejoong had been in love with the man known as Jung Yunho for quite a while - since elementary school. Well, Jaejoong didn't know that it was love then, but he knew he felt something for the other that was beyond the simple friendship feelings he felt for Yuchun and Junsu. [Changmin wasn't a part of their little group until a little later.]

He'd never admitted his feelings to the other and really didn't know if he could without making an idiot of himself. The feelings were an on and off thing anyway, so how good a relationship could they have? Jaejoong sighed again and stood up straight. Yunho had had several girlfriends since junior high, but Jaejoong had never seen much love floating between them like he saw in other couples. Yuchun watched Jaejoong's inner thoughts show on his face.

Suddenly a thought occurred to Yuchun, but before he got a chance to say anything, there was a knock on the door. Jaejoong instantly brightened up, but Yuchun knew that it was an act. He frowned and followed after Jaejoong. As Yuchun turned the corner to where the door was, Yunho walked in and grinned at both of them. “Guess what, Jaejoong?”

Yuchun could see the addressed male stiffen, but as soon as it happened it faded away. A huge fake smile splayed on the elder's face as he listened to the good news Yunho wanted to share. “I asked Hyun-Ji to the prom. She agreed to go with me. I guess the rumors of her not liking dances were wrong.” Yunho's grin widened, if possible. “Oh Jaejoong, I think I've landed the perfect girlfriend this time.”

And Yuchun could see Jaejoong's heart ache written all over his face, but Yunho was too blind to see it. It hurt the younger male to see his hyung like this... especially since Yunho was just so 'in love' with that whiny girlfriend of his that he couldn't see that Jaejoong was the only one perfect for him. Jaejoong often questioned his reflection at night - and Yuchun didn't mean to listen in, but its kind of hard when you share the same bedroom.... The questions were often hard to answer too: “Why can't he see?”, “Why did I fall in love with him?”, “Who does he run to when he's heart broken? Me. That's who... But yet he can't see how much I love him?”

"I don't want you to go with her...” Came the whispered reply. Yuchun's thoughts broke apart as he realized what the other said. Yunho blinked rapidly, trying to process those words. Suddenly his eyes grew questioning. “You heard me, I don't want you to go with her... She not right for you!” Jaejoong's voice had risen above the normal. Junsu and Changmin, both startled by the loud speaking, walked out of latter's room and stood there to witness the scene.

"Jaejoong... what's wrong with you?” Yunho questioned, crossing his arms with a frown. Jaejoong looked down for a moment, but then growled lightly. Yuchun's eyes widened.

"She's not right for you.” Jaejoong repeated. Yunho frowned. “I wish the prom had been canceled. Then you wouldn't be able to go with her!”

"How selfish can you be, Jaejoong?” Yunho questioned calmly despite the clenching of his fists. He turned and walked to the still open door. “Forget I came by... I'm going to go find something to wear to the prom... I hope I don't see you there.” He stomped out, leaving Jaejoong still heaving angrily.

Before anyone could say anything about what had transpired, Jaejoong pushed past the three men and went into his room. He slammed the door shut so hard that several pictures fell off the wall right near it. One picture was with Yunho and Jaejoong goofing off about three months ago... before Yunho got together with Hyun-Ji.

Junsu and Yuchun flinched when the door was slammed. Changmin frowned and crossed his arms. “What's happening with them?” He questioned to himself, walking back into his room. Yuchun sighed, massaging the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb. Junsu proceeded to get a broom and get the glass up before someone slipped and fell into it, namely Jaejoong.

Yuchun walked to the bedroom he shared with Jaejoong and knocked lightly. When no reply came, he walked right in. He saw Jaejoong laying down on his bed, shoulders shaking lightly. The younger male frowned and shut the door behind him, then walked over to Jaejoong's bed. He plopped down and a raspy voice told him to go away. Yuchun laughed and shook his head. “Sorry, no can do.”

"Jaejoong...” Yunchun murmured. “I have an idea...” He grinned mischievously, which caught Jaejoong's attention.

//End First Part\\

Notes:

1.First off I realize they didn't look like this at the same time in real life... but the do in here :D

2. Hyun-Ji is a completely fictional character. I made her only for this fic [she may make appearances in others though... still deciding on that.]

3.Um... yeah, Jaejoong is very evil with his kitchen utensils. Hey be glad! It was originally a rolling pin.
