The Accent Game!

In the most recent episode of AsCast, we learned that Caspian would be losing his controversial accent in the Voyage the Dawn Treader film. There has been speculation as to whether the film would address this mysterious change, and if so, how. This seems like the perfect opportunity from some crackfic, and dare I say it, commentfic. Yes friends, I am inviting you to commentfic, for all that there are only four of you reading my posts. Here is where I admit that my hatred of Livejournal has almost completely dissolved, and I have indeed become a LJ girl. Good Lord.

So, I invite you to speculate with me. A ficlet addressing Caspian's accent -- or lack thereof. It can be any scene, anywhere, any characters. How do they bring up the topic? Will Caspian say it himself? Or perhaps other characters just whisper behind his back? The more crack, the better.

"Hey Caspian," she said.

"Oh, hi Lucy. What are you up to?"

"I've got some snacks in here," said Lucy, indicating the tied handkerchief she carried. "Would you like to join me?"

"Sure, that sounds nice. I am kind of hungry," he replied. They strolled along the shore of Ramandu's Island, settling onto the flat rocks near the water. Lucy opened the handkerchief and pulled out a skein of apple juice.

"Now, I have a few kinds of cookies. Do you want chocolate or peanut butter? Caspian?"

She turned her head as Ramandu's daughter floated past, the blue silk of her gown rippling in the ocean breeze. Lucy waved as she went by.

Caspian leapt to his feet. "Hail, my lady!" he cried, in the same throaty accent he had employed around Susan. "How doth thee fare in this strange sun's heat? Would it please you to rest among our company? Come! Sit and be refreshed! We feast upon rich biscuits of chocolate and butter'd peanuts!"

"No thank you, King Caspian," she said serenely, and continued on.

Caspian slumped to the ground. The accent vanished as quickly as it had come.

"Yeah, I'll have the peanut butter, Lucy. I'm not much of a chocolate guy."

Lucy scowled.
