(no subject)
First day of school yesterday. I have some good profs and intresting classes. Though my International Business class is going to kill me - i was falling asleep on the first day.
I was really excited to go to my marketing class. My friend Anna is in it, and she too is majoring in marketing. Our teacher, Mr Tomlin, is awesome. Hes the advisor for AMA (American Marketing Association) which is something that i decided I wanted to be apart of this year, and i have the advisor for a teacher - awesome! Then he started talking, about internships, about portfolios, etc etc, and I started freaking out - I dont have any of this! Me and Anna stayed after class to talk to him. We are going to schedule a meeting with him to talk further. I mentioned how I wanted to do an internship, but theyre usually unpaid, and well, I have to work to live and taking time off creates a hardship. Hes going to look into getting me a paid internship - which is sweet. It was just reassuring talking to him, because I felt so lost and behind in the game, and I know he his willing to work with me, and he knows that Im going to try.
On another issue, I might rush for a sorority (I dont even know how to spell it). The president of delta delta delta is a friend of mine and tried all last semester trying to convince me to rush this fall. And who do I see yesterday before my first class? ya.... not to mention Anna really wants to rush. I dunno, I really wouldnt mind. I know ive talked about this before, i just cant see me being a sorority girl... but it would be fun? I havent shot down the idea, i figure I wouldcheck out a few meeting and events, see if it would work with my scheduale and if I can even finance it. Who knows...?
By the way - my mom being as rediculous as she is and waiting until the last possible second to turn in her papers, has delayed my financial aid until mid september - SHIT, how am i going to buy books...? :/ its putting me down to the wire, and i hate that.
