I'm So Tired.

I was telling Jennie, a Small Group member that I'm close to, that I'm just tired. The summer is ending, and things are fixing to speed up and I already feel like I can't breathe. School starts on Monday, I don't have all my books because I can't afford them, I start my job on Monday, but it's going to be so incredibly tedious, because I will, just ( Read more... )

It's often hard to depend on the Lord when our worldly needs seem so bleak and so unmet. Lee and I went through this the past week. As I have stopped working with our soon to be addition, our finances have been really tight. I haven't been able to understand where all our money goes. I spent a really bad weekend all last weekend worrying about it. It's not easy. How are we going to afford a little one on top of everything else? But somehow, probably through quite a bit of prayers and tears and frustration, I am at peace. We have about the same amount in our bank account. But the Lord has just basically told me to just hang in there and depend on Him. He knows the needs of His children. He understands what we need, though He feels far away. When your life is aligned with Him, we still may not understand, but we can have a peace that doesn't make sense to us or our friends. The thing that I've learned that is when I have a need such as money or a washer and dryer that works, etc, is when I'm praying I ask for very specific things. "Please help me to find the money to pay for this bill." Or if you need a certain pair of shoes for work or whatever say "Dear Lord, I need your help to find a white pair of shoes, that are comfortable, that I'll be able to use for work, under $25.00." You'll be amazed how it works. But listen to His promptings. Often He'll test you a couple of times, before you actually find what you need. I'll drive by a store and the Lord will tell me to stop. I do, and can't find exactly what I'm looking for. But then do shortly there after. We are His children and He will carry us through the tough times and dance with us in the good.
