Yesterday afternoon, I happen to see a fitbit on the ground in Bellevue. I went to my original destination, thinking that if it's still there when I get back, I'll pick it up and find the owner. You never know, the owner might be in the area and come back looking for it. Unfortunately, this was not the case so I picked it up and took it home with me. I'm guessing that if the device had GPS capabilities, the owner now knows where I live.
Today, I asked around and searched online to determine how to go about returning it. It seems that other people have found missing FitBits before and just kept them or tried to locate the owner through Craigslist and couldn't. Thankfully, someone commented that FitBit support would probably know what to do and that's what I did.
It would seem that there is a procedure for having found a FitBit. You are sent a pre-paid postage label and you send the device to FitBit and then they'll locate the owner. Isn't that cool? I guess since they have this procedure in place, it probably happens pretty often. Thank you FitBit for having such a procedure because I would have been completely lost about what to do.
Hopefully, if you ever find a FitBit, you will also contact FitBit support and return the device to its rightful owner. Well, I did my good deed for the day. =)
