Busy Weeks and a Heatwave

It is way too hot to sleep, which is a problem since I have to be awake tomorrow. I'm hoping my window AC will be able to push down the temperature in my room by a few more degrees.

Various things from the past two weeks:

I saw an amateur burlesque competition at the Middlesex Lounge last week, which was fun, most of the acts were pretty funny. The space is nice, too. I've walked by there quite a few times but never been in that venue before. There seem to be a lot of good cocktail lounges in Cambridge.

Speaking of lounges, I've been at Starlite a lot in the past week and the drinks have been unusually good (and they're usually great). A new cocktail, The Modern, is very odd and interesting, it's a gimlet made with cilantro-infused gin and garnished with a cherry tomato. They also served an americano flight last night: Classic (campari and vermouth), revised (Pimm's and Lecuesta Spanish vermouth (which I can't find any link for)), and white (Becherovka and vermouth infused with burnt citrus and sage).

There was an art festival in Davis last Saturday. Artisan's Asylum was there building a ridable dragon statue in the middle of the square.

I saw the last Harry Potter movie. It was pretty much what you'd expect given the book and previous movies. I enjoyed it, it's definitely worth seeing if you saw the previous seven. I'm glad that series is over, though.
