Hey...so I'm gonna go off on a small tangent...
I need your help...I'm working on a photography project, and I need locations to shoot. However, there's a catch- I need abandoned or nearly abandoned sites...factories, buildings, stores, missile silos even...Anyone know anything?
Lemme know!

The Haunted House in St. Charles isn't abandoned, but it has that look and feel. Plus, it's right next to the river and some woods.

Cool...thanks.
Anything else out your way? Factories? Foundaries?

Actually, yes; I forgot, just as you're coming into St. Charles from Saginaw on M-52, there's an abandoned factory on the left side of the road. It's huge. There are usually one or two semi-trailers in the parking lot. It's not a very attractive place, overall, but I'm sure you could manipulate the angles and shadows and make parts of it look kind of neat.

Any clue who owns it? If not...where's your city hall? :P

I don't know who owns the factory. If I remember correctly, there's a big "For Sale" sign in the parking lot, so if that sign's still there, maybe you could call the number on it and find out.

And ha! A city hall in St. Charles?? Honey, we've got a bonafide Village Hall. =P

I never bothered to learn the street names in St. Charles, but it's a pretty safe bet that, if you just keep driving straight past the traffic light in town and keep an eye out to your right, you'll see the hall fairly quickly. It's a teensy little one room job with "Village Hall" written over the entrance. Nothing to write home about.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. =/
