Billy liked Zanya. And not only for "adult" reasons. Still he was a little leery when she showed up in the neighborhood looking to meet the "rugrats", as she put it. Her response when she had heard about them was to laugh.
"You got two rugrats and you didn't even get them the fun way!"
Things went smoother than Billy had feared, especially when Ana fell in love with Zanya's hair.
"Can I get green dreads too daddy?"
"Dunno if green is quite your color." Billy said. He mock glared at Zanya.
"Hey I just figured to give them a lot of sugar before bedtime and leave." she smirked. "Not my fault your gal's got good taste."
Despite her threat, Zanya did not in fact give the kids sugar. That night, after Ana was curled up in bed with her stuffed otter, and Tommy was momentarily asleep, they had some time to hang out.
"I'm surprised you were so keen to meet them." Billy admitted.
Zanya snorted. "You kiddin' Billy? Believe it or not, we Zartan's are all about family."
