What a weekend...

Well it's done. My big sister Nic (surrogate in case some of you are really confused right now) is married. So let us recap the amazingness that was this weekend:

Friday I headed up to Indy and hung out with Nic and her family (and there's a lot of them) in the hotel for a few hours. After this her sister Chris and I dropped Nic off at the ceremony/reception site and went to pick up the dresses before heading back for the rehersal. While there I had the joy of getting to catch up with good ole Amanda Brown and Jenny (oops my name isn't Dill anymore) Brown. Three girls who have a serious love of chatting with some time on our hands...oh no good can come of this, hehehe. After the rehearsal was the dinner. An exceptionally great time that was a lot of catching up, meeting people, and sharing some great stories and favorite drinks :P  That night became several guys dreams for the following reasons: six girls watching hidiously horrible porn in a room with anywhere from one to four guys at the same time (props to kevin for taking one for the team and starting out the party, hehe), seven girls all sharing one hotel room including two comfy beds of three a piece, did i mention alcohol yet?

Saturday began with an early breakfast for all, followed by the fast becoming event oriented three musketeers, Jenny, Amanda, and I, spending some more quality bed time before getting it together and over to the reception hall to set up. Two and a half hours, approx 25 decorated tables, and a near cat fight later (no not between us!) we went back to the hotel to enjoy some brunch, inevitably a bit more alcohol, and get ready for the main event. Having showered, dried, done our hair, put on our dresses (including the aptly named hot sex dress of mine, thanks Nic) and fixed all the trimmings, we were off. It took about another hour of last minute touchups (like finding the garter...) before everything was good to go, but when the guests started arriving, Amanda and I were ready to go, guest book at hand, directions pre-prepared. I managed to not cry much, the worst was trying to keep it down when I went to see her one last time before the ceremony, i actually was evicted on account of starting to make her cry, lol. The ceremony was beautiful, Nic looked amazing, and Jason was glowing when he finally saw her in that fabulous dress of hers (oh and he was probably happy he was about to marry her too, hehe.) The girls all finished crying eventually and cocktail hour was a blast. What better to do to a hundred people who haven't eaten in many hours than give them alcohol! Reaching dinner we all took our seats and began the polite conversation, and once that charade was done we went into actually talking and having a great time. I was lucky enough to have a table of great people including the oh so hilarious Jeff and Brian (who became the bubble monster at one point to my dismay) and we had an empty chair which became the visitor's seat! Most of the night after the food was done consisted of dancing in groups, with the girls, Brian, or Kevin a bit, and at least half of that was conducted with at least one person having a glass in hand, hehehe. Throughout the night i realized the following: for some people singing all night is acceptable, never underestimate your ability to make the room stop and look at you, i can drink many more people under the table than i ever would have imagined, using the bride as the pole is a damn good time, cake is so yummy even when smashed against a face, whether slow, medium,or getting jiggy with it fast there is no wrong time to dance when you've got someone fun to dance with, some songs just make you remember being dipped, everlasting bubbles can be used as a form of weapon, smile early, often, and always because the odds are someone nearby has a camera and who knows what they're gonna do with it!

Sunday was brunch at the Kaedings....the parents that is, not Nic and Jason Kaeding, hehehe. It was a good time, with strawberry daquiris, awesome potatoes, and great people. They opened the gifts, and they certainly got a nice bunch of those, and then it was casual hang out time for all us college folk.

So after driving home and finally buying a router, i now have wireless and have my printer setup for it too, so i can finally sit on the couch in the living room and do research, press print, and when i arrive back in my bedroom, have it sitting there waiting for me! Woohoo! (yeah we know it doesn't take much to make me happy, hehehe)

Goodnight everyone, there really was only one thing that could have made this weekend any better, but it was amazing all the same. I love you Nic, and congratulations to you both!
