taken from swan lake
dying king: "derek... it's not what it seems...the great monster...it's not what it seems"
derek: "what's not as it seems!? where's odette?"
king whispering as he dies "not what it seems"
as a child i never realized the symbolism that this simple scene fortold
i should haved learned then that monsters are not scary, big, scaly and have claws
well they can have claws
but the real monsters are those who walk among us
and they are not what they seem
or even the this scene
derek: arrange the marriage!
odette: wait? why do you want to marry me?
derek: because you're beautiful!
odette: but what else?
derek: what else is there?
there is more to people than beauty
like the midget guy said "i want to marry someone who, even if their face burns off i will still love them"
sure now it's great but next thing you know you're 70 and you're stuck with someone boring as shit
what poor unfortunate souls...
