So I've started playing around with Tricksteronline. It's a 2D MMORPG! Originally japanese, it's got it's fair share of Engrish. The only thing I don't like about is it uses Flash to launch. The login system Game & Game designed for it needs to be shot,. You have to log into the site, then from there you start the game.
For those of you that participated in RagnarokOnline alpha and beta1, it's kinda like that. It's patcher is an absolute nightmare, and for SOME reason doesn't work with IE7. I had to downgrade to get it to work. They said it was impossible for them to fix. Go figure.
It's an obscenely cute game. You pick an 'animal' as a class. there are 8 classes, 4 male and 4 female, four classes in all, a male and female to each. However, each animal can only be ONE SEX. So if you want to be a racoon you can only be male.I'm a racoon-- I use 'charm' type magic, which is 'semi' supportive. I have offensive skills, but in later levels I also learn skills that will raise magic attack of players, and can also lower magic DEFENSE of monsters. There is a female equivilent to racoon-- I forget what it's job is, I think it's fox, but their 'job' is 'model' while roccoon is teacher. It's weird and a little confusing honestly. I'm not even going to mention stats.
The drilling system is also a unique twist. You're given a drill, and you basically dig around in the dirt to find quest items, potions, money, etc. As you gop up in level (via drilling, or hitting/killing monsters/quests) you can get better drills, which can drill through different densities and depths
Overall, aside form brokenness (tosday a server drops and we all lost the apility to make parties, use friend list, and whisper to people), and lag, it's been fun. I'm level 17 now, only three more levels until I can take off the racoon tail and ears. O_o
