Me: *pause* If we're going to be friends, you're going to have to stop asking stupid questions.
Me: *flipping through scrapbook* You know, even if you don't count the pictures from drag balls, seventy-five percent of the people in here are still gay.
Nick: Drag ball?
Me: Yeah. What, you don't have those in Arkansas?
Nick: Not unless you're looking to get beaten and lynched.
I also ran into Melissa S., a friend I had when I was fifteen and in Michigan. She saw me at a bar and yelled out my first name, and I freaked out because no one has called me that in several years.
