Castle Adventure
Comment on this post to play, don't respond to someone else's comment.
Rules:
- You may only reply to me (kzerina), no others. This is your game, you will meet no other LJ user within the game. You are welcome to read the other games, but you may not comment within them.
- Turns (comments) will go in a Me - You - Me - You order. You may not comment out of this order, and any comments that fall out of this order will be deleted -- your turn will be based on your first comment made. You must wait until I have responded before you take your next turn.
- Each game is different. Your first left turn might lead to a cliff, while someone else's may lead to a treasure trove. Your game is unique and any knowledge you gain from reading someone else's game likely won't apply to your own.
- You have a limited inventory. You may only use what you are carrying and what you find throughout the game, and things do have limited uses/durations and will be kept track of to prevent cheating. You may choose to try and use/combine your belongings in any way you like, however.
- There is no set number of times you can "die". If you do expire you will find yourself back in the same room, at the same point as where you'd been before you died, though a running tally of deaths will be kept.
- The length of your game will vary. Your game may be twenty comments or two hundred comments, depending on a combination of how well you do and how my random dice rolls go. Your game will not end until you reach the End Game room and complete the End Game objective, and doing poorly doesn't always mean a shorter or longer game.
- Anything within (( )) will be counted as an out-of-character action. If you have a question leave it within double parenthesis, otherwise I will count it as part of the action of your character.
- No Anonymous comments. Fairly straightforward, these will be deleted immediately. LJ users only, please.
Example of a chain of turns:
You > I walk up the steps and take a closer look at the carvings around the door.
> My response: The carvings do not look worn, which is odd as the temple itself seems very old.
You > I peek inside the doorway cautiously. If anything jumps out at me I'm going to run back down the stairs.
> My response: The sunlight doesn't seem to penetrate very far into the temple itself, but in your immediate vicinity you can see a hallway and see down the hallway for about ten feet. The ceiling is seven feet above your head, and the walls have two-foot square blocks of hand-themed carvings spaced every foot or so; the panels mirror one another across the hallway, meaning you see the same panels no matter which wall you are facing.
A cool breeze brushes your face, originating from somewhere within the temple; you hear water dripping, but do not see the source.
You > I pull out my flashlight and turn it on, aiming it down the hallway.
> My response: The flashlight allows you to see another ten feet, giving you a visible distance of twenty feet total. In that twenty feet the hallway ahead of you either ends or turns, as you can make out a wall there. A very large stone carving of a hand rests on the floor on its disembodied wrist against that far wall; it appears to be an open hand, with something glittering in the light of your flashlight in the center of the palm.
To begin, reply to this:
You have been hiking for some time now to reach your destination, a castle high above a world of sheer cliffs and blowing winds. There are plenty of trees rustling about as the constant, but gentle breezes flow through the air around you.
The castle you have sought for weeks stands mere yards away from you now: tall ominous towers and vast extensive walls, all worn by time. The stone exterior is mottled with gray and white and the occasional patch of brown. Small windows appear in the towers.
There is a single large wooden door in the outermost wall.
