Upthegrove's Noose
A reader's response to a white supremacist getting three years' prison for mailing a noose to Lima NAACP president Jason Upthegrove. It begins with a quotation from Upthegrove:
" These despicable acts are attempts to destroy the people and their families who lived through these horrors"....Tell us uppittygrove exactly what "horrors" you've lived through that makes you an expert on sensitivity??? I mean other than late notices, collection letters and foreclosure notices....or are those the "horrors" that the noose reminds you of that you have suffered??
People, the 13th Amendment was ratified only 145 years ago. The Civil Rights Act was 46 years ago. Give the black community a little time to heal.
