All this time I was finding myself, and I didn't know I was lost.

Well, it was kind of a horrible summer. I had all sorts of personal shit to get through, which I won't be getting into any more detail, because I really don't want to be dragging it all back up again. Let's just say things were looking pretty fracking bleak for a while there, and leave it at that.

At times I even considered giving up and having myself commited or well, just giving up all together.

Hence also my rather long and announced hiatus here. At first I just didn't have the energy for it, and then I sort of felt like taking a little step back to re-evaluate some stuff. But I'm back now, hopefully even better than before! ;)

I've been doing a lot better for a month or so now, but then school started and I wanted to focus on getting that on the right track before anything else. If everything goes as planned I should be finally graduating sometime early next year, which will be a huge relief. I'm feeling a lot more positive about it than I did last year when I was completely missing my motivation. And I'm even getting compliments from my teachers about my work. So yay for that.

Other great things about this fall; me and a friend of mine are writing a larp set in prohibiotion era Finland which I've wanted to do for years now. A legitimate reason for spending hours upon hours pouring over history books! And yes, I do get exited about that, never said I wasn't a nerd.

Also, Helsinki has a bid to host the Worldcon in 2015, fate of which shall be decided in this week's Worldcon held in San Antonio. I've been trying for weeks now not to get my hopes too up, so as not to get crushed if they don't win, but for the record, I really really want the bid to win. Other awesome fannish things? Rhianna Pratchett, daughter of Terry Pratchett, and writer of, among other things, Mirror's Edge, a really great game, will be the Guest of Honor at a con in Helsinki in just over a month.

So all in all, for once, life is great.

gaming, geeky stuff, real life, school
