The start of a new era

Well, I got bored and decided to make an LJ today.

I usually don't approve of jumping on the bandwagon when it comes to trends and such- but one of my fave authors has an LJ and if it's good enough for her- it must not be all that bad :P

I used to do this type of thing on my own little website- linked on the left hand side of the page under Links- but that takes time, effort, constant correction of codes, constant updating if the images get deleted, links go dead, etc., etc., etc...

So we'll see how this goes :-D

Actually, I got interested in this whole thing because of an entry My Fave Author left-
about kate's entry

Needless to say, very interesting stuff.

I went back and looked at the original culprits journal entry- and he does seem sufficiently remorceful. I found the whole situation amusing myself- maybe because I'm at home with my baby 24/7 and have absolutely no life and little enough to amuse me ~shrug~

I could almost see where he was coming from in regards to just wishing sexuality could be a pure and innocent thing. Almost. The problem is that people are all too human- along with the fact that human nature in and of itself does not allow for "pure" sexuality. If there is such a thing at all.

Look at Laurell K Hamilton and her Merry Gentry series. The fae in her world seem to have exactly that view about sexuality- but having read through her experiences- I am never left with the sense that that particular type of "free" and "uninhibited" sexuality is anything close to pure.

However, the fact is that although, I'm sure simply because statistics and probability demands that this must be so, some women would not mind having their breasts fondled by random men- most women, myself included, would not only NOT appreciate random men fondling our breasts- but would be enraged at the very thought (as proven by the posts) that any man would have allowed himself to sink to a level in comraderie with rapists, sexual perverts, and sexual assualt convicts.

I, for one, would have loved to have been at that convention if only to tell the idiots who started it a resounding NO. You can't touch me. Now go away before I pull out my mace and file charges of sexual harrassment.

jeez- what were they thinking?
