Summary: This is the love and also the life story (okay until their twenties) of Sungmin, Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk, Donghae and Ryeowook. This story tells about how they grow up and closer and also how they will find their first and maybe everlasting love.
Kyuhyun was laying in his bed, heart pounding in an incredibly fast pace and hands sweating. He did not know why, it was just another night next to Sungmin.
Oh yeah, that might be the reason., Kyuhyun thought sarcastically. Just another night, seriously, Kyuhyun!
Kyuhyun curled up to a ball, as small as possible, and hid under his blanket, trying to even his breath as he heard Sungmin entering the room.
"Are you already asleep?" his Hyung's voice said softly. Oh, how addicted Kyuhyun was to that voice.
He replied with a rather loud breath, as if to underline his oh-so-obvious state of sleep.
"It seems like you are... Good night and thank you, Kyuhyunnie!" Sungmin said and Kyuhyun could almost hear a chuckle in the other boy's voice as the older boy finally slipped into his bed.
Kyuhyun pressed his hand against his chest as he felt his heart beat practically trying to jump off his chest. He hoped it was the right thins his Hyung was thankful for.
However, that night, nothing further happened. Kyuhyun stayed in his bed and so did Sungmin and only the breaths of both boys could be heard through the whole night.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Kyuhyun was the first to woke up. He saw the sun shining through the curtains, not particulary bright though. It couldn't be late. He turned his heavy, sleepy body to the other side, facing Sungmin's bed. His Hyung was still asleep and even though it wasn't bright by that time, Kyuhyun could clearly see the soft features of his face.
His perfect shaped nose, flawless skin and his slightly opened mouth. Sungmin was drooling but Kyuhyun actually just found it adorable.
What the fuck is that guy doing to me the whole times over?, Kyuhyun complained to himself, not really minding though. He felt his face heating up as he remember the day before. Only the fact that they've been watching corals together had been freaking him out in any possible way he could think of.
Sungmin's eyes snapped open as his phone suddenly rang. Kyuhyun jerked. He prayed to god that it wasn't the person who he thought it was. Hadn't Sungmin told her that he would leave his phone turned off the whole week?
Sungmin blindly tapped on the bedside table where his phone was placed, eyes still closed from fatigue. He groaned when he finally found it and accepted the call.
"Hello?" he murmured, voice mumbling and not quite clear. Kyuhyun closed his eyes, just in case.
"Hyung?"
"Yaaa, Lee Hyukjae! What the heck had gotten into you to call me at this time?"
Kyuhyun exhaled in relief and opened his eyes, only to see into a pretty but annoying face of his roommate.
"He didn't call me!"
"Whooo?" Sungmin was still not awake.
"What, who? Your mother!"
"Mom?"
"Donghae, idiot."
Something in the back of Sungmin's head made 'click' and his lips formed an 'o'.
"What's with Donghae?" he asked curiously, all evidence of fatigue like blown away.
"He hasn't called me yet! Is he alright?"
"He was perfectly fine when I saw him at dinner yesterday..."
"He doesn't miss me." Hyukjae stated with disappointment soaking his voice.
"No! I'm sure he..." Sungmin couldn't find a good excuse to lift up his brother's mood. "Uhm."
"See? Oh my god, maybe he hates me because we had that little fight before he went away."
"I don't think that it's because of that fight... You are closer than any two other persons I know!"
Sungmin hadn't noticed that Kyuhyun had been observing him the whole time, his eyes never leaving his Hyungs lips as he was absorbed into the conversation with his brother. The moment Sungmin reminded him of the fact that Kyuhyun and him weren't even nearly as close as Donghae and Eunhyuk were was once again upsetting him.
What had just happened to their relationship?
"Oh, Kyuhyunnie are you awake?" Sungmin suddenly said, seeing Kyuhyun's frown.
"Huh? Oh, yes, I'm awake..."
"That brat is with you?" Hyukjae asked through the phone.
"Kyuhyun is not a brat! He is cute, okay?"
Kyuhyun grinned and pulled his blanket up to cover his mouth. He didn't know that he liked it to be called 'cute'.
"I see. However, Hyung! Help me about Donghae! You promised me to help me, remember? To get to know if he likes me. What about that?"
"Well, sorry, I got distracted! I have my own problems, okay?" Sungmin finally said, annoyance now obvious in his voice. The way his brother was demanding things from him freaked him out.
There was a tense silence between the both of them for a while. Hyukjae murmured something that Sungmin did not quite understand and hung up.
"Are you okay, Hyung?" Kyuhyun asked. He was surprised how many problems Sungmin had with people he loved. Sungmin gave him a little smile, signalizing an 'I'm okay' before dialing a number into his phone and leaving the room.
Kyuhyun prayed that his Hyung wasn't calling Haerim.
Sungmin wasn't calling Haerim but someone else. "Hello?" he said once he heard that someone had picked up the phone.
"Hello? Hyung?" Sungmin heard the sweet voice of his little brother which somehow made him really happy.
"Ryeowook-ah, how are you?"
"I'm fine! Yesungie is coming over this afternoon and we are going to a theme park together!"
Sungmin chuckled as he heard the innocent excitement in his brother's voice.
"By the way, did you just call Hyukjae Hyung? Because he seems upset. Did something happen?"
"Let's not talk about it now. Tell me about your date with Jongwoon!" When Sungmin was upset, he would always listen to other people and there weren't many people who cheered him up like Ryeowook did. His bubbly, cute and bright personality would always make him forgetting his worried for a short moment.
"Oh, alright! Uhm... Hyung, I am so excited!"
"Wookie-ah, it's not the first time that you two are spending some time together."
"Sungmin Hyung, I plan on... I plan on confessing to him today." Ryeowook said quietly, his words almost not audible for Sungmin.
It was silence for a second until Sungmin began to squeal.
"Are you being serious? Confess? Really? Oh my god, my little brother is growing up! I mean... Ryeowook! Are you sure about that?"
"Not at all." Ryeowook admitted with a loud sigh.
"Aww. My little brother, so adorable! Don't force yourself to do it and just do when you feel like doing it!"
"The problem is that I don't know what that feeling feels like."
"You'll know it when it comes."
"Hopefully! Hyung, I really like him so much!"
"He likes you too and you know that, Ryeowook."
"I know... I think."
"You have no idea how glad I'll be as Yesung's brother-in-law!" Sungmin almost shouted in excitement.
"Hyung..." Ryeowook said in slight embarassement again. "I'm not sure about it though..."
"Daww... so cute!" Sungmin said softly. "I don't think that you need my help, do you?"
"No, thank you, Hyung."
"Alright then. I believe in you!" Sungmin cheered, raising his fist even though he knew that his brother couldn't see him.
"Haha I hope I do too..."
"You can do it." Sungmin encouraged Ryeowook another time before his face suddenly brighted up. "Oh, and tell Hyukjae that I'm sorry."
Ryeowook had to smile as he heard the caring and gentle voice his brother had said the last sentence. Even though he was Sungmin's and Hyukjae's brother too, he knew that he didn't have with any of them what they had with each other. He remembered those days back in his childhood when he had been chased by bullies and Hyukjae and Sungmin had protected him together, always with that bright smile that they both had. They smiled differently, Hyukjae with his gums while Sungmin's smile was like pure candy but when Ryeowook was thinking of Sungmin's smile, Hyukjae's popped up his mind at the same time and so it was the other way around.
When Sungmin was talking, Hyukjae was nodding the whole time because he agreed. When Hyukjae was talking, Sungmin just let his twin talk because he knew that Hyukjae would tell what would have said anyway. They were completing each other, always had since their birth and Ryeowook sometimes found himself jealous of what his brothers had while he was the one left out.
Even though Sungmin had been spending more time with Haerim recently, Ryeowook knew that it was just a short phase that would change because Sungmin wouldn't be able to survive without Hyukjae for much longer. The bond between the both of them was stronger than any other feeling Ryeowook could ever have defined. He could feel it, the way the both of them could talk without moving their lips, how they comforted each other just by sending glances, how they made up after a fight without words, just falling into the other boy's arms and cry.
Another person wouldn't be able to see it at first glance, what Sungmin and Hyukjae had, because Sungmin would be around his girlfriend most of the time while Hyukjae would feel very comfortable around Donghae. But sooner or later, they would miss each other. It would be killing each of them not to be able to spend time with the other anymore.
All those thoughts were running through Ryeowook's head as he heard Sungmin shyly, lovingly asking for forgiveness after they had argued 5 minutes ago.
Ryeowook turned to his left side where Hyukjae had been standing ever since the younger boy's phone had rang. Ryeowook covered the phone in order to not let Sungmin knowing who had been listening to their conversation with those tears filled puppy eyes and a desperate pout that would melt everyone's heart.
"He says he is sorry..." Ryeowook whispered to Eunhyuk who immediately bursted out in tears and grabbed the phone.
"Hyung? Sungmin Hyung! I'm sorry too! Don't be mad at me I was selfish and it was all my fault don't be sorry, Hyung, don't be sorry!" Hyukjae said down, tears spilling out his eye corners. There was pause, Sungmin because he was surprised to have his twin on the other line and Hyukjae because he didn't know what to say. He still was the one to break the silence the first.
"I love you, Hyung."
Sungmin felt tears slowly coming up his eyes as he realized what was happening and even more; how much he actually missed Hyukjae after only one day.
"I love you too, Hyukkie." Sungmin replied, then paused for another second. "And I miss you."
"I miss you too, Hyung!" Hyukjae whined, arms flailing and almost hitting Ryeowook who was just in his 'Dawww'-state.
"Hyukkie, I'll try settling up what happened with Donghae, okay?"
Hyukjae was close to crying out loud now as he heard what his brother was offering. "Hyung, you have no idea how perfect you are but... I don't know if it's worth it if we just end up arguing again."
"It's alright, Hyukkie." Sungmin smiled when he noticed something moving behind the big, white column next to him. "Who's there?", he was about to ask when that something fell down, appearing to be Kyuhyun.
"Uhm. Hi, Hyung?" he awkwardly said while grinning even more awkward.
"...Hi, Kyuhyun?" Sungmin said, eye brows raised as he tried to encourage Kyuhyun to tell him the story behind him hiding behind a column.
"I just wanted to say that... we have to get to breakfast soon." Kyuhyun said, eyes visibly showing relief as he found an acceptable excuse for chasing after Sungmin.
"Oh, okay!" Sungmin said, naively accepting those words. "Hyukkie, I need to hang up now. Breakfast!"
"But-" Hyukjae tried to interrupt, preventing his brother from 'settling it up with Donghae' but it was too late already. He earned a clueless shrug from Ryeowook as he turned to him.
"Want to play soccer with me?" Hyukjae suggested. Ryeowook shook his head. "Hyung, you know I suck at sports. Also, I'm getting ready for the amusement park with Jongwoon Hyung now."
Hyukjae grinned. "Oh, your date."
"Not my date!" Ryeowook flailed, earning a pat from his brother.
"It's alright, Wookie. Have fun on your date." Hyukjae laughed and walked away.
Ryeowook sighed and went upstairs in order to get ready for his date. Errr... whatever he had with Jongwoon today.
----------------------------------------------------------------
"Kyuhyun?" Sungmin said while he was walking down the hallway, Kyuhyun cheerfully going next to him, a smile plastered on his face as he went to breakfast with his Hyung.
"Yes, Hyung?"
"I'm sure that people don't hide behind columns only to tell their roommates that it is breakfast time."
Kyuhyun's heart dropped somewhere below his feet. "Uhm..."
Sungmin stopped and turned to Kyuhyun and the younger boy sighed in relief when he saw that his Hyung wasn't angry but just curious, an encouraging smile on his lips. If that guy wasn't an angel, then Kyuhyun didn't know anymore. "What have you been doing there?"
"I... was eavesdropping." Seriously, Kyuhyun. Who told you to say the truth? You really are a silly boy. Kyuhyun pouted mentally. He just couldn't lie to Sungmin. It was impossible.
"Why?" Sungmin said and now there really was a slight, accusing hint in his voice. Kyuhyun shut his eyes. This was going to hurt.
"When you left the room, I thought it was because of me and that you were going to say something that I was not supposed to hear, which means something bad about me so I followed you." Kyuhyun managed to half-lie. Or rather not mentioning that he actually was just curious if Sungmin had been calling Haerim.
Sungmin tilted his head. "Kyuhyun, you know that you shouldn't do this, right?"
Oh, sometimes, Kyuhyun really hated that motherly attitude Sungmin pulled off in front of him. He didn't want Sungmin to see him as a little adorable puppy god damn it!
"Yeah, I know..." Kyuhyun said, nevertheless. Why did he become that submissive in front of Sungmin again? Where was all his evilness? It sucked. "Well, however, I figured out that you were not bad-mouthing about me."
Sungmin raised an eye brow. "Obviously."
Kyuhyun could have smacked himself. Sungmin was definitely pissed. They ended the way to the breakfast hall without any further word, leaving that tension in Kyuhyun's chest unbearable.
Fuuuuuuuuuuck, Kyuhyun, what did you do?
A/N: I suppose this became a little shorter than they previous chapters lol Kyuhyun is an idiot, I know, but he's getting better soon^^ Hope you all (the two of you, Jenny and Vivi) still enjoy ~ <3
