~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.

Hankyung inserted the key inside the keyhole of his girlfriend's doorknob. It was two in the afternoon and he just got home from work to wish his lover a happy aging day. She'd probably hate this day because she'll be a year older which she really despises but sadly, she can't do anything about it. At least, she can hide her age by her beauty.

He was successful in entering her room after getting scratched by the cat wandering around the kitchen with a ball of yarn in one paw. Heebum never liked him.

And there she was, sleeping. Her face was decorated with a mask, eyes covered with cucumber slices, her silky hair was tied in a bun and of course, her voluptuous body clad in a pink bathrobe. How can a human being sleep with just those things on? It was a good thing Heechul was asleep because if not, he would've received a lecture from a beauty expert. Once he was able to remove his shoes, the feline found him and headed to its bed, catching its own tail before settling to have a short cat nap. He laid down beside her as he wrapped his arm around her waist in an instant.

"Wake up, sleeping beauty," Hankyung whispered huskily, tracing his nose on her neck and chuckling at how a simple act made her shiver. It was weakest spot and you would end up in clutches if you dare to touch her. He felt her move and a soft moan escaped her lips, turning around so that the latter would face her back, "I told you not to call me that anymore. I'm Cinderella, Hankyung." The brunette smirked upon hearing that. He tightened his grip on her waist and carried her, bridal-style.

Her confidence says it all. It was the most appealing part of her and it was the one that made their spark. That is why they have been dating for almost six years without. They don't get tired of themselves. And besides, Heechul changes her hair color for at least once a month.

"Whatever. Since it's your birthday today, I'll be taking you out on a stroll. So take a bath, look pretty and I'll be in the living room," He ordered, pursing his lips when the former pouted and removed the cucumber on her eyes. She had her arms crossed and her eyebrows almost meeting. Hankyung was expecting a comeback. "First of all, I don't have to look pretty because I already am. Second, I'm done with my bath and lastly, I don't want to go out today. Can't you see I'm in the middle of my beauty sleep?" Heechul retorted, heaving a long sigh before asking Hankyung to put her down. Hankyung complied before following her to her vanity table -which was messily decorated with different kinds of cosmetics and not to mention she had some head shots stuck on it.

"What's so good about this day?" She grabbed her brush after taking the ponytail off. She was aware that she was a year older than her current age. There's nothing to be happy about that. Was there something to be glad about? She began brushing her hair with her eyes closed while Hankyung watched her face scrunch into an expression that's hard to tell when he accidentally pressed on the part of her back that would probably hurt. "You're just stressed, Chullie. It's your birthday so we have to celebrate," He tried his best to plead and it worked. Heechul stood up and grinned although her face was still covered with the face mask. "If that's what you want, then, let's go," She went to the bathroom after gesturing her lover to leave her room so that she could prepare.

They were in the car with Heechul angrily staring outside, silently cursing Hankyung for lying just so he gets her to leave her house. They were heading to the mall which they will spend their afternoon there. Heechul was oblivious of what was in store for her. It was clear that Hankyung still have tricks up his sleeves but she just kept silent hoping that it would lessen the anger inside her. "I hate it when you lie just so you can have me all for yourself," Heechul stated, gritted her teeth and her knuckles getting pale. She doesn't want to be treated like the especially when it's her own boyfriend. She trusts him too much to the extent that she trust him more than herself.

"You wouldn't go out if I would speak the truth. Heechul, you know perfectly that it was out of my will to lie but your attitude forces me," Hankyung held her hand and squeezed it, sending her a small smile to lighten up the atmosphere. He was the only one who can comfort her. "But, you could have told me that we're going to the mall. You know I can't resist them," She was the same shopaholic person. Well, what can he do? She is a paediatrician and she gets a lot of cash every month.

"So, does Cinderella forgive Prince Charming?" His smile grew wider when the former gave up to grin and pinch the man's cheeks. At least, she was no longer upset or whatsoever. She nodded, nonetheless. Then, she folded her knees and hugged them, glancing at Hankyung knowingly as if she was thinking of something mischievous, "Since today is my birthday, will you be proposing today?" The brunette chuckled as he gaped at the road while Heechul pouted, guessing what his answer might be.

"Maybe, maybe not."

"What a safe answer! Come on, Hankyung. We've been dating for more than five years and you're still not thinking of marriage."

"Heechul, you shouldn't mind my business especially when it's about our marriage. I can't inform you because it is supposed to be a surprise."

"We're not growing any younger. I'm a year older. You're in your early thirties. We're lucky that you're done with your service in the military but I think we just wasted the two years. And also, we're in the ideal age for that."

"It can wait. We should wait. It might not be the right time for us to get married. But, I would know when the both of us are ready."

"But what if something bad happens that will lead us into something inappropriate?" She looked at Hankyung, her eyes showing worry. Luckily, the traffic light was on red so the latter can talk to her properly. He grabbed her hands as they stare into each other's eyes, "None of those will happen, Heechul. Let's just stop this conversation now to prevent us from fighting again. We should be happy today. No more problems and such, okay?" Heechul nodded and looked away, fighting the tears that warned to fall. There's nothing more to say, anyway. She can't argue with him any longer.

They were in the mall and the two were heading to the skating rink without Heechul knowing, of course. Hankyung squeezed the former's hand as he used his lips to pout at the ice rink, indirectly saying what their plan for the whole afternoon will be. It was one heck of a nightmare for Heechul. "Oh no, you don't. Not for the third time," She transferred all of her weight to her legs and feet as soon as Hankyung began dragging her to the counter where they will withdraw their skates. Instead of being serious, the man chuckled and pulled her stronger which fortunately worked.

"Shoe size?" Hankyung bravely asked, pushing the thought of Heechul smacking him on the back of his mind. Although he was of what the size of her feet was, he just wanted to tease her a little. "I'm not doing this again!" Came her answer from afar. She ran back to the exit before grabbing hold of a post, wrapping both of her arms around with her hands locked. Walking to where his girlfriend was, he looked interestingly at her; she looks like she was about to be killed by serial killer.

"And why not?" He raised an eyebrow as crossed both of his arms.

"I don't want to leave this mall with a wet butt!"

"You're not gonna fall. We have done this an I bet you already know to."

"Still, no! I never learn that fast. Maybe, next time will be a better time for us to skate. And furthermore, this pair of jeans is a limited edition."

"Then, I'd buy you a new one."

"Didn't you hear me? I said it was limited edition!"

Hankyung was getting impatient so he unclasped her arms from the pillar, towed her inside and glared at her, "Choose, skate or I'll leave you here."

"Then, leave me. I'll shop while you skate."

"Choose again, I'll enrol you to skating lessons or I'll teach you myself."

"Do I have to be here every day?"

"That's what makes it lessons."

Signing, Heechul stumped her foot as defeat crept inside her, "I hate you for being such a good businessman." He leaned on the wall with her arms crossed, sensing how happy the latter was. Hankyung asked for her shoe size although his girlfriend was getting impatient. "Seven," She said with a deadly glare.

Hankyung grinned knowingly and replied, Bargain's the game, sweetheart." Heechul puffed her cheeks after rolling her eyes. She was asked to go to the locker room to wear her socks so that they can skate earlier. She half-heartedly complied; dragging her legs to the smelly room filled with skaters and grabbed her socks. As soon as the socks were inside her feet, Hankyung appeared with two pairs of skating shoes in hand, smiling happily like some kind of stupid idiot. "What are you smiling about?" She I irritably questioned snatched her own pair and attempted to wear them. "How the hell do I wear this damn thing?" She yelled and fortunately, no one was there to her apart from Hankyung.

After he wore his own skates, he knelt down to reach for the former's feet while Heechul just followed him with her eyes, amazed at how he can tie laces without losing his charm. Once he successfully tied them, he lifted his face, stared at each other's orbs gaping at his own and was about to lean forward to close the gap between their lips but was stopped when Heechul placed her finger on the latter's lips, stopping him from kissing in public. "Chul!" He complained, purposely pulling the the laces tighter -which caused Heechul to yelp in pain. He only wanted a peck.

"Stop the drama, Hankyung."

"I was being romantic."

"We're here to skate not to display our affection to the public."

"Just one peck."

"No."

"Please? With a dynamite on top?"

"For goodness' sake, doesn’t be such a kid-" Before she could even finish her sentence, the brunette already kissed her full on the lips. He pulled her up to proceed on the rink while Heechul cursed him her breath and tried her best to keep her balance. It was never easy to walk with only a blade supporting your whole body. "Being stubborn won't let you win over me, honey," Hankyung chuckled, gripping on the former's hand and arm to assist her.

When they reached the rink, the man led his lover on the railings and slid away, leaving the terrified woman hugging the metal rails for dear life. Gliding back to where Heechul was, he reached his hand out for her to take but was rejected when she slapped it away, "I don't need your offer."

"WANT is more appropriate, Chul," He harshly pulled her away to leave the railings alone. He just know that she can't beat him up in public -she says that her image might be ruined by doing so. "Let's just be peaceful for today. I really want to skate with you," Clasping their arms together, they skated for a whole round without saying anything to each other. Although Heechul would often trip or literally fall butt-first on the ice. Despite the hard falls, the redhead would still hold onto the other's arm as if her life depends on it, her poor bottom was wet and swollen -her pants were already wet- and she doesn't even care.

"Anyways, do you have anything in store for me?" Heechul grinned mischievously, looking down to check if her legs weren't parting again.

"Maybe, maybe not."

"Another stupid answer. What's wrong with you today?"

"I'm perfectly fine but there's no way I'm telling you something. It won't be a surprise if I tell you."

"Do you remember your birthday? I don't want that to happen today."

"Nothing even happened. I stayed at home to finish some proposals while you were working. And here I am, wasting my hard-earned pay just to make my lady happy."

"Exactly, my birthday must be eventful and you are supposed to make it like that."

"Aigoo~ you're salary is higher than mine Doctor Kim."

After skating for more than three hours, circling the rink for almost fifteen times and of course, falling for about eight times, they went to the beach and since the sun was about to set, it was darker than usual. Heechul gasped upon seeing the lit candles on a round table by the shore with two chairs and it was perfect for a couple. "When did you-" As if he read her mind, Hankyung quickly interrupted her. "Just this morning. I got a little help from Heejin noona and so, this happened," The woman practically threw herself to the latter, instantly encircling her arms around his neck in joy. That was totally unexpected and touching. Although he would never show this side on public, he managed to set up a dinner for two.

"So, shall we eat? I'm starving," Hee added as he moved behind one of the chairs after breaking free from his lover's hug and pulled it for her to sit. The latter gladly sat and let him do all the work.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.

In a matter of minutes, the eating and chatting time was over and Hankyung led her to the bench far from the water. It was hanged on a tree and it was like a swing only with a wider space. Once they have settled on the chairs, Heechul naturally flipped her hair and leaned her head on the Hankyung's shoulder, snuggling closer to her partner as she laced their fingers between their thighs.

"This day has been tiring," Hankyung grinned with the former's statement, chuckling at how adorable she was when she dreamily batted her lashes. "I want to spend my life like this, until I die, forever and ever, with you," He suddenly felt the urge to spill his real intention for having dinner with her and unfortunately, his conscience did the talk.

"I've been meaning to ask you this," Stopping to keep the element of surprise, he stoop up before pulling Heechul to stand in front of him too. He let go of her hand and fished something in his jacket's pocket. Once he found where it was, he spoke, "It's been a long time since we started dating and i have to admit it was hard to ask convince your parents but we made it and now, here we are, staring at each other as if it will be the last chance to do so. It's now or never." He gave her forehead a peck before kneeling down and opening the red box with a gold ring shinning by the moon's reflection inside.

Heechul was aware of what will happen next. She saw this in dramas and movies and she never thought that this would happen in real life. Her hazel eyes were watering as she blinked the tears away.

She never liked crying in front of him. It was embarrassing for her to let Hankyung watch her cry. She wasn’t known for that either. Donghae, her friend, was. If she cries alone, she would head to the bathroom with a mirror in hand and lock the door so that no one -not even Hankyung- can talk to her. She would stare at her reflection on the mirror until her eyes are dry. After all, broken are the only thing that can make the almighty Heechul cry.

"Will you marry me?" Came the voice of her beloved. Her lips involuntarily curving into a small grin as she knelt down to hug Hankyung, whispering the obvious answer to him, "I think you already know."

Hankyung happily hugged back, squishing Heechul before claiming her lips for a quick kiss. When he finally noticed that the ring was lying on the sand, he quickly grabbed it and Heechul looked at him with much affection.

'It's a perfect fit.'
