yeah. So Dad woke me up today, his birthday, to say that "your Mom's in the hospital." Mom's a very "grin and bear it" type. . so the fact that she woke up Dad at 5:30 am to ask him to take her to the hospital, because she was in so much pain. . yeah. . it's a hard thought to wrap my head around. He said he was just grabbing a few things and then heading back to the hospital, of course my reaction was, "i'm going with you." He basically said that she was pretty doped up on Morphene and had a lot of tests to do, so that it would pretty much be useless to. He sent me on my way to work promising that he'd keep me updated. My sister and I met Dad at the hospital at about 4, after they gave her a Cat Scan and a sonigram. This shit PISSES ME OFF. . . they couldn't tell us SHIT, or DO SHIT, or EVEN LET HER TALK TO A DOCTOR until our family physician had a look at her. Pretty much all they could do was go, "here, have an IV and some morphene. . we're gonna test the hell outta you, then make you wait in hungry ignorance while we make a patronizing insensitive bitch be your nurse!" "Carol", the nurse, was the one we pried the info, or "semi-info" about her needing to see our doc first (after office hours, "he may possibley pop-in, he's been known to do that. It might be as late at 11, or maybe tomorrow, k?", said as she's walking out the door with her back to us.
0 O 0 Mom couldn't eat. Mom's got blood sugar problems and they couldn't let her EAT until he saw her, no, wait, she couldn't even HAVE WATER!!!! Carol made it clear that the only thing she could have by mouth was ice chips. . friggin ice chips. This lack of food was making Mom cranky and Carol said, " Well we can't let you eat while your stomach is hurting now can we?" Mom mumbles, "It doesn't hurt anymore." To which Carol replied, "Wow! Cured you already did we?". . . not even in that cute ass patronizing way. . but like in a very bitchy sarcastic way. . I swear, if my Mom wasn't lying in a hospital bed 2 feet from me, that woman would have verbally been reduced to a simpering speck on the floor. . . So the verdict? Pancreatitis.
0 O 0 Things are looking good though. Even after the Morphene wore off, the pain went away. You know what sucks though? Today's my Dad's birthday, and he's spending it sleeping alone. . Mom's still at the hospital. You know what he said earlier though? "This has been a great birthday. You know why? Cause I got to spend all day with Marisa. . " heh, too cute. Keep her in your thoughts please.
