Tonight's television lineup...
Tonight is going to be a great night for television. I plan on making myself a big bowl of popcorn and sitting in front of the idiot box for at least two hours.
First, on an all new Gilmore Girls, a battle royale between Lorelai and Rory and Lorelai's parents has been hinted at. I am looking forward to the wit and sarcasm this evening. It will lift my mood in preparation for the next big show...
The State of the Union Address!
This, by far, is the one show that I look forward to every year. There is nothing like seeing the President of the United States make a bunch of statements about random topics that he will have forgotten he spoke about by the next morning. Anyone remember his whole "steroids are bad" bit a few years back? It made it sound like it was a huge problem and something that he was going to devote a lot of time and energy into pursuing. After the SOTUA (I like that acronym), did we ever hear about it from him again? Not so much.
Okay, I'll be honest. The real reason I like watching the SOTUA is because, on a personal level, I enjoy the ego boost I get from feeling like I'm smarter than the President.
