Homecoming!

Homecoming was a blast. Mike and I drove to Connecticut Thursday night, and then we took two cars (with Lexi) and drove to Vermont, stopping at the Harpoon Brewery on the way, where I had the greatest pickle ever. In fact it was so good that I made Mike take a picture of it for me. For details, ask Mike. We then proceeded to SMC, where we wandered around and saw lots of people that we knew (most of which we didn't remeber who they were which really confused Lexi). I ran into all my old JO professors and told them about my new job. Seeeing as how most journalists lean left, as do college professors, they were all psyched about what I was doing. Then we headed downtown for dinner at VPB, and then hung around afterwards drinking VPB beer and hanging out with Cherise (who I haven't seen since just after graduation) and Katie Barry, who has recently returned from Vietnam. We crashed with Eric Kuplast (who we dragged around with us in our craziness all weekend). Saturday was a lot of fun. Mike and I went to an all you can eat Chinese buffet for breakfast while Eric and Lexi went to Friendly's. Then we saw the new SMC mascot unveiled, drove through the mountains to go tot he cider mill where we got cider and donuts, hit up the Magic Hat brewery and I even had a chance to walk around campus with a pipe, which I miss doing immensley. Saturday night was another dinner with Eric Kuplast, Dave O'Brien, Laura McDaniel, and Rescue Andy at Sweetwaters. We had stopped by Nectars for the alumni social, but it sucked, so we left. It was so much fun seeing everyone. There were a lot of people I haven't seen since graduation or just after that after getting over the shock of actually seeing their faces again felt like we hadn't missed a beat and had a great time. My goal is to keep in better touch with people. I know I've said this before, but every time I do I add another person to the list of people I keep in touch with, so here's to adding one more.
