“Come on,” Kazuya says, hand pulling at the hand clasped in his. He never thought it’d be this hard, trying to convince Jin on anything. He had always thought Jin is simple-kind of guy. You tell him he’ll get amazing sex afterwards and he’d be already going, but not this time. This time, Kazuya had to work with Jin for month to get him agree that this was the right thing to do at this point. “You can do this. He’s really not that scary.”
Jin scowls at him from the corner of his eyes and keeps his face turned toward the Kamenashi home. The light radiating from the widows catches in his eyes and sends their colour dancing with clarity and brightness. And fear. “Are you nuts? Of course he is!” Jin says and Kazuya knew Jin was trying to turn and run away, and Kazuya held Jin’s hand harder. There’s no way they’re backing off, after all this time.
Kazuya scoffs. “What happened to you being a fearless bastard as you said the other day? Doesn’t your irrational fear of one man kind of mess with your image?” he teases knowing which strings to pull to make Jin do what Kazuya wanted him to. He takes a deep breath, and looks at Jin, smiling at him, trying to give him the confidence he wants. Kazuya knows Jin doesn’t need it, but it clear Jin thinks he needs it.
Jin’s fingers tighten their grasp a little, not enough to hurt, and he says, “I think I’m allowed to be a little intimidated, dude.” he says, and Kazuya’s eyebrow jerks. Jin knows Kazuya hates it when Jin calls him a dude. He had no problems with Jin calling him ‘babe’, ‘princess’ or ‘honey’ but it really makes him mad when Jin calls him ‘dude’ or anything like that.
“But why?” Kazuya’s voice shines with exasperation. He never understood why people were so afraid of his father. Sure, he might seem a bit scary, but everybody knows he loves Kazuya more than anything and would do anything to make him happy, and Kazuya was sure that showing his happiness with Jin to his parents, would make them happy too. They’ve dated for almost five months, and visited their parents many times already, just not as a couple so to speak.
“Because your dad’s like Bowser. He’s one scary dude.”
Little giggles puff from Kazuya’s lips as they ascend the front walkway toward his house for their first Friday night dinner as a couple. He had to remind himself not to let Jin play Mario so often because when he’s mixing the game to the real world, it means he’s played it too much. “Just don’t call me Dude.”
Jin smirks at his boyfriend. “Whatever you say, princess.” he says and Kazuya knows that Jin’s ready.
