Well the new Buffy movie seems to be chugging along quite happily.
Not sure how it's going to turn out, given the information currently to hand.
It doesn't involve Joss Whedon, and none of the cast from the TV series will be appearing at this stage.
The whole premise is that it's set in the "Buffyverse", but doesn't interact with any of the established characters.
So it's a stand-alone movie, with it's own story and cast.
It's being developed by Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment, who are pairing with "Buffy" rights holders Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, to develop a theatrical reboot of the 1992 movie written by Joss Whedon and directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui.
The reboot may not feature any characters from the original film or from Whedon's TV spinoffs, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel."
Joss Whedons thoughts on the new movie:
"I hope it's cool.".
So, meh, I'll see how it goes.
