Chinese New Year Cards - Hallmark strikes again!
A stupid phenomenon has started to occur in the past few years. Card companies have started to produce Chinese New Year cards and Americans have started to buy and send them to Chinese friends. Now understand, Chinese people don't send each other cards. It's a waste. We send each other cakes, lucky money and oranges. We send each other CRATES of oranges. In my family we also make a bajillion boxes of rice krispy treats. It's just another Hallmark ploy to suck your money away and kill trees!
I love having having customers at the bookstore come up and ask me where our Chinese New Year cards are. I give them a real queer look and tell them we didn't get any.
