as effie commands...

how could this happen to me?!? innocent little me!!! my question mark key has fallen off! FALLEN OFF, i tell you! i can never ask a question again! this is horrible!!! oh wait...*snap* *snap snap* *snap* wow, that is so cool! it totally snaps back into place! this is great! ???? oooh ????

one day not too long ago, i was working at my computer as my roommate browsed the sunday ads. suddenly, she screams, "this is SO great! the toilet bowl brush is on sale!!!" 'course i won't complain if i have a roommate with such fervor to clean the toilet...better her than me. ;)

okay, so i am here because effie IM'd me and said "please update" and since she said "please," and since i am tired of trying to cut my 4-page paper down to 2 pages, i will abide. btw, i was thinking about how amazing it is that the reason most of us are here (on LJ) is effie. so kudos to her for getting us to keep in touch. :)

i am starting to feel the stress of school, as my four midterms approach in a week and two days (yikes!). i am truly a genius: i managed to arrange my schedule so that I have the following midterms on March 1: 8 am- bio, 9 am- business, 10 am- econ. fabulous, isn't it?

in other news, i have become a member of the berkeley figure skating club and will be competing with them, because i'm so bad i make all the others look REALLY good. no, i'm actually not kidding. so this means i will be at a competition from noon to 10 pm next saturday (in san jose). that's right, the saturday before the monday with my 3 midterms.

but actually, it's not really too bad. reading other people's entries, i feel their classes are quite a bit harder than mine. for one thing, taking only ONE science class is really sweet. i took three last semester and i admire all you ppl who are taking two or three at once, especially if they are w/ lab. i hate lab, btw. anyone love lab? really, i'm interested in hearing how you make it enjoyable. i feel i'm wasting my life away pipetting, drawing pictures of blobs under microscopes, and doing physics experiments that never work.

well, it's not actually that bad. sometimes lab is fun. oh yeah, like last time when my lab partner spilled this mixture (either sucrose or acetone or ?, we don't know) on my calculator and cemented the keys in place. i cannot use the up, down, or left arrows, nor the delete key, meaning that i cannot make mistakes while doing long calculations. i tried water and alcohol so far, in addition to jamming my finger repeatedly into the cemented buttons, but to no avail. so i am planning to take my calculator to the biology office in hopes that they can find some solvent that actually dissolves this stuff. i'm a bit concerned, when neither water nor alcohol helps, but the stuff was originally dissolved in something, so i imagine it must be re-dissolvable.

as for what i've done lately, today i went to my group Eggster's 10th anniversary and met some cool alums, one of whom is the guy who started the club and is now a UCSF pediatrician who heads the UCSF Community Service Board. It's cool to see where we could all be in 10 years. And tomorrow, we all get together to build props for the event (we put on this big egghunt april 10). I think we'll mostly paint posters for our 30+ booths, since my co-chair and i have not conned anyone into driving us to the hardware to get the foamboard & wood for our larger props. i am a little worried about running this session, because if i'm not organized and we get nothing done, ppl won't come back for the next one and our props will be crud. so yeah, i'm gonna go plan some stuff to do tomorrow so that doesn't happen.

oh yeah, our best prop idea so far: since our theme is Be Somebunny: Exploring Careers, we thought we should make a life-size politician where the kids can stick their faces through the head and take a picture. and who better than governor schwarzenEGGSTER?!?

luv y'all. have a FABULOUS last week of February!
