Add me to the weeping with joy list! And I am so so grateful you had doctors that were helpful and could diagnose what was up, etc.

Let there be more joy!

My current team of doctors is AMAZING. They are two of the kindest and smartest people I have ever met and they make up for all the horrible doctors I saw before I found them.

Wow! I did not know, you handled yourself soooo well in public. AND built a business! I can't imagine what that cost you in pain and downtime, etc. I'm in awe.

And so very thrilled that at last you have found something that works. You can look forward to happy years with your spouse and your son and your chosen family of friends. Yay!!!!!!!!!

For the last few years, I basically didn't go out in public unless I was either having a good day (rare) or medicated to the eyeballs (often). I have been very lucky to have doctors who believe in aggressive pain management and were willing to keep prescribing painkillers and muscle relaxants so I could have something resembling a normal life.

My business has always been a blessing. It's not difficult physically, it pays the bills, and nobody cares if I don't bother to change out of pajamas or I spend all day sleeping and then work at 3 in the morning. :) Also, no commute!

I can't imagine...though I'm close by watching Beena every day and trying to help her through. Whatever did you do as a teen?

The pain didn't really get bad until I was out on my own and able to seek medical care and buy ibuprofen, which was actually a good thing since my parents refused to take me to doctors. My mental health, on the other hand... well, to be perfectly honest, I'm still not entirely sure how I got out of there alive. Sheer stubbornness, I think.

There are reasons I don't talk about my childhood. Or talk to my parents.
