More on my vacation

December 26th I saw Ray with my parents and my grandfather. It's a good movie. Who knew Jamie Foxx could act? The soundtrack is mainly good recordings of Ray Charles' songs so you should see it in theaters to do the sound justice.

December 27th I saw Alan. We went to Swans for lunch and then the Coffee Roastery for hot chocolate. The coffee roastery has turned yuppie lately though - no coffee bean sacks to sit on or tables made from barrels. They even took out most of the bar seating. Anyhow, their hot chocolate is still the best in SF, so it was good.

On the 28th, I went for a dim sum lunch at Y Ben House in Chinatown. Their food is exquisite and cheap - three of us ate a lot of food for under 20 dollars. We also went to City Lights Bookstore and the ferry building. My grandfather took us to dinner at Parma, an Italian place.

The 29th was spent shoe-shopping, eating lunch with mathematicians (in Berkeley), and eating crab for dinner. Mmmm... fresh cooked dungenous crab...

The 30th was a complete disaster. Both flights were screwed up and Cal lost.

Went to Amy's for New Year's Eve. Possibly more about that later.

New Year's Day I found much to do other than watch the Rose Bowl. Also watched When Harry Met Sally with my parents.

Yesterday, I came back to school. Saw first-year Stacey, Carlos, Steve and a bunch of other people while moving in. I put up a mezzuzah on my door. My room is clean. Went over to Clayton's, had a screwdriver. Came back, went to sleep.

Today I went to Analysis. Yay, measure theory.

math, mundane, holidays
