Awesome to see a real LARP still around =)
I don't think there are any left here - insurance ran them out.

Sacramento, Ca.

There are LARPs in town... but none I wish to actually go too.
It's all about who has the most drama... uses the MET system, and follows none of the rules.

I know of several fantasy live combat boffer style larps in California. I obviously cant say anything with regards to the quality of the game as I havnt played in them, but if your interested let me know and I can get you some links.

Sure =)

Come to think of it, I recall one in town.
I generally try them out as an NPC. If I hear the rule "The PC's can't die" I know I won't go back. One of them in town was under that category. That was the IFGS game. The other was Adventures Unlimited, and I had a good time with that. The drive is what killed it for me. as I recall it was almost in the Redwoods National Park.

Here is a starting list pulled from (some are MET, but they are listed as such so you can just ignore them): http://www.larplist.com/mainlist.php?op=nalist... )

Here is another link I just found in regards to what is called the larp alliance. From what I gather in a quick glance its a group of larps in Cali that work together to keep costs down and promote larping in general across the state.

I just may have to check this stuff out =)

Granted, it will all need to wait until I get a job again.
But I think I can drag a few nutters to go with me =)

Cali has a bunch of craptastic nutters. If Sharded was out in Cali, they'd end up paying something like six grand in insurance -- a month. It's moronic.

I may have been a bit high when I said that, as it was many years ago. But the guy who told me was the one that ran AU. I think the group disbanded, their sight had not updated for a very long time. But I do recall it being several K. It was the primary reason he was going to get out of the game - he stated to take a loss at every event.
