It's one month until my birthday.
We've been over this before, about how I don't expect a lot of fanfare to my birthday, either because people can't or don't think about it, and some years all I get is something from my parents. Every now and then, my friends manage to surprise the hell out of me, like they did at SERE 2004 when they all made me cry a lot. Shit, I even had a cake that year.
Some years, all I get is an Ace of Beasts drop in UBRS on a run with the Scoundrels (2005).
Other years, I get to find out my boyfriend's back in jail. (Of course, we all know how that ended up, so fuck him. And yes, I hope you read that, asshat.)
Birthdays always remind me that I'm so far away from my friends that I'll never really have a party on my birthday. My friends are so spread out there's no way I could get them together for something.
Jake and Lana live in Boston (or Florida; y'know I still don't know where it is), the J's live in NYC (I still want that invitiation), at least Mike and Amy live in Saline, Binky and Evan in Lansing, I have a whole bunch of WoW friends in Vancouver, Buffalo, Florida (asshole ... I wanna live in Daytona Beach), Denver ... bah. No way could I ever get them ALL together for my birthday.
Anyway.
-- Umbrella swift, for winding yarn.
-- Ball winder, for the larger skeins that I have to make into balls. My arms get tired...
-- A sewing machine. I want a new one, and I'd like something mildly nice. Ideally, I get a bunch of money and I'll buy the actual thing myself. I have three dresses, a bodice, and a quilt I've got the pieces for already, I just need a sewing machine worth its salt to get the job done.
-- A new job.
-- Second Wiimote and nunchuk for my Wii.
-- Epic flying skill for Reanna and Emraya on WoW.
-- Tickets to Blizzcon so I can meet all the ALA goons that are going -.-
That's about all I want. Some are more easily acquired than others.
(oh, fine.)
-- More knitting books, too. You can never have too many.
