I'm going to attempt to keep this as short as I can. I avoid Walmart in general but went to get my eye exam there because I'm poor and the only place I could think to get it done cheaper was Costco and once I got a membership it wouldn't be cheap.
But anyway, I go in and look around. That's all ok. The optometrist was nice. My prescription only changed a little (strangely, the eye I injured as a kid seems to have better vision... wtf).
Then I got to look at the glasses. I mean, I really didn't want to get them there but there was a pair for as little as $38 and it's worth pricing it. I mean, if they don't cost that much different, maybe I'll get them there.
Nope. Apparently my vision is bad enough where they really recommend getting the nice thin lenses, which is ok. Yeah... the thin lenses there are $170. Admittedly, I'm not thrilled about ordering my glasses online but I can get the same set for $70 total online. Oh, and Walmart charges $10 to measure pupil distance if you're not buying glasses from them. They didn't charge me but they warned me that Walmart can charge it.
The woman who helped me was also just irked at me but I've worked in retail and I get the feeling she hates her life enough to not need to have it made any worse by complaining.
The reason I'm saying I'm confused in my mood rather than annoyed is because this is realistically only a minor issue. I have my prescription and I have my pupil distance. I was told I'd see better with contacts but I still don't think I can do it... and knowing me I'd wear nonprescription glasses to go with them. I could have fun though by messing with people.
