I had several wierd dreams last night.
I only recall one though.
I was in some shop that specialized in engines and weddings.
yup you read that right.
I was being fitted for a personal airplane for a grand entrance for my wedding. It consisted of an elastic contraption with lots of straps and what I believe were hook and eye closures. It fitted somewhat like a parachute harness. This is what the engine was connected too. How exactly I don't recall. Next came a piece that was flexible like fabric. In fact it was kind of like a giant sock, the kind that don't even cover your ankles that they sell for women who don't want their socks to show over the rim of their sneakers. You were to put your feet into it (like a sleeping bag) and then stretch it up and over your shoulders. I have no idea how the wings were to attach or even if it had wings vs a helicopter rig.
The clerk was telling me that this rig could go on under the gown and then we'd bundle all of the gown into the "shell". "Don't worry, I've had lots of practice. How fluffy is it? Is there a long train? We can work around anything but you should really bring your gown to the fitting."
I do recall trying on a second kind of "engine" harness that needed two packages of straps. They were the last two in the store and some fellow was in there to buy one of the packages. I told him to hold on because I had a feeling I wasn't going to buy this style after all and then he'd be able to buy the straps. He told me that the engines were really good. "My wife's sewing machine motor burnt out and I put one of these on. You should see how fast her sewing machine goes now!" This got a few laughs out of the other older fellows hanging out in the shop (think old downeast types ayuh). All in all it was a weird dream. I woke up still trying to figure out how it would fly.
