alrighty. so the summer is officially killing me. I was doing pretty well too! for me.
I mean, the whole month-of-june-otherwise-known-as-monsoon-season was pretty great, if you know, wet. but even barring that, it was ok for a while there (for new england anyway). it was nice and cool. i could go to bed with my windows open. nice, natural breeze.
but this? this whole, hotter than the surface of the goddamn sun and wetter than the goddamn ocean thing? not cool. i'm taking like, at least 2 showers a day and it's really putting a dent in my schedule here.
it's killing meeeeeeee.
my only consolation is my shameless dependency on my bedroom AC. my... preciousssssssssss....
I fucking HATE being hot. how does anyone enjoy this?
on the plus side, my buddy M gave me her old mp3 player, so i've been getting out a lot more (at night of course), which is good because in the summer i'm basically a slothe. i just sort of lay there hoping the sun will go away, occassionally dragging myself over the water dispenser. I'd worry about getting fatter, but the heat kills my appetite, so at least there's that.
also, with my new sorta/kinda financial stability, i've been able to go out a lot more. had the best friday evar last week. Got up (godforsakenly early. ugh) and saw the Titian/Tintoretto/Veronese exhibit at the MFA, which was awesome. for those that didn't know, they were essentially the "mean girls" of venice. it was freaking hilarious reading about them sabotaging each other for patrons and stuff. oh Tintoretto, you showoff you~
Then we hung out in my preciousss AC and that night we saw Ponyo!
OMG it was so cute I thought I might die. Seriously. so freaking adorable. To anyone that hasn't already seen it, DO SO. RIGHT NOW. It grabs you by the inner child and never lets go. XD
plus I had my friend
sakurai_sho staying at my place for the last 3 weeks (*snuggles* XD) and I've been doing night walks down the Charles with M, so I've been busy busy busy!
all of these things, however, would be made even more awesome if it weren't a hundred degrees out. merrrrr.
