Cause I'm talented that way...
Squee!!!!!
Rize is on hold pending 1st layaway payment. Yes, that just came completely out of the blue - as in I wasn't even shopping for Rize, had told myself no more dolls until 2010 - new camera first. Yeah, right, that plan worked!
Now in my defense, it wasn't my fault! I was tempted by
vampireangel13So, how did this happen?? To explain things, I should clarify that I've been lusting after Delf boys for 4 years. My first dolly love back in 2005 was a Lutz Delf boy. I avoid temptation...but was then lured in by a certain enabbler
onnas_baka_gakiHad I NOT gone to that panel at AnimeFest 2006 and let her put that boy in my hands, but that is another story....
When I was shopping for my first doll, I ALMOST bought a Delf, but David put a limit of $500 on a doll...so at the time, it essentially killed that idea. Prices have dropped, thankfully! And every time I have ever seen a Delf since then I've told myself, "one day, I will have one of these"..SQUEE I have to hug all over my good friend. She decided to put one of her hybrid dolls up in the DOA Marketplace. And Rize from out of nowhere demanded I buy him his body. In truth, I have been shopping vampire heads. But it was a passing fancy - not a plan to bring him home or anything. Guess he had different ideas!
So new camera is on hold and my first doll for 2010 is already in the works. I'm doing a 4 month layaway. And he is a WS Vampire Moon head on an El body...I know, I just confused everyone who isn't a doll person. He has a partial face-up, which means when he gets here he won't sit around faceless while I decide how he'll look. I do know this boy will be very much a gentleman in his dress. Need to find some slacks, vests, dress shoes...and a suit wouldn't be a bad idea. Rize is my corporate CEO type...vs Kaele and all his yummy leather.
Happy, Happy, Happy Dance...I need to get a 2nd job just to fund my bad habits.
The Rant
The Keller Citizen ran an announcement last week in their on-line calendar.
Here is how it read:
Oct. 24 - The one-mile Tarrant County Buddy Walk, benefiting the fight against Down’s syndrome, will be at 10 a.m. at River Legacy Park, 701 N.W. Green Oaks, Arlington. Call 817-496-5100 or visit
www.dsptc.org.
Um - did I read that right - "the fight against Down's syndrome"...WTF, seriously, do we live in the dark ages! I'll skip the part that they listed the name of the diagnosis wrong. Geez, who trains these reporters???
Soooo - the point of my rant. I'm asking that everyone I know take the time to write to the editor of The Keller Citizen and let them know a little bit about disability awareness and acceptance. I mean, I know I didn't walk to support a "fight against" Sammy's diagnosis...we walked to celebrate all she has accomplished and will accomplish.
AND in other news...we survived 8 years, officially! Yup, you read that right. On Tuesday, David and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. I suffered through Zombieland, but we went out for Thai food after, so all was good. And I got this really neat little hair pin that is a loli hat made out of plastic. I gave it to Pen...October 9 was his birthday and I never bought him anything.
That is it for tonight.
