Breaking radio silence.
Attention, fannish peoples: you may or may not remember a community called nothing_hip founded by annakovsky lo these several years ago. The way it worked was, every week community members got an mp3 of an embarrassing song -- the kind you don't want anyone to find on your iPod, but enjoy in ridiculous ways. And then you write fic inspired by the song. It's a great way to write that random 400 word idea floating around in your head, or finish up the story that's been languishing on your hard drive, and the fic tends to go in tons of fun, unexpected directions.
