Okay, so: I do not like wank, I do not want wank. I am typing this up because I'm really tired of being harrassed by sockpuppets and I would like it to stop and I also think people deserve to be aware of what's going on.
Backstory: Three weeks ago a couple of us who write the warning_labels series had a run-in (read, left three comments total) with neverenoughjam regarding a story she'd written for the same series and posted when she'd told annakovsky she wouldn't post it. In response, neverenoughjam took all of her fic off of the internet. Annakovsky has a longer write-up of the situation here. (Essentially the issue was not whether or not the fic was plagiarized, but that she had told us it was part of the series and that she would not post it, then did so with an author's note implying it was her own idea. Whatever. Anyway, no one at any time ever asked her to take any of her fic off the internet.)
At the same time, nomadshan made a livejournal post accusing people of bullying neverenoughjam (NEJ) out of fandom. She later recanted and apologized very straightforwardly here, and it seemed like the incident was over.
Since then, neverenoughjam has been using multiple accounts, posing as different people, to leave negative feedback on my journal and several other people's; pretending to be different people and generally being underhanded.

Yesterday I got a negative but mostly polite comment from someone called munchkyn_mom. Her lj has a link to her website, www.munchkyn.com, which tells us that her name is Sarah Stegall. Apparently Sarah Stegall was a big deal in X-Files fandom about 12 years ago (something NEJ had publicly claimed, while refusing to reveal her name in that fandom) -- all her fic is still up at Gossamer here, including what I'm told was her most well-known fic, The Sound of Windchimes (NC-17... aliens make Mulder rape Scully? Or something?).
Things started to get fishy, however, when I woke up this morning to find two flames (on the same fic and an older one) from a brand new journal called death_tax..... with the same IP address as munchkyn_mom.

She also left flames for all the other warning_labels authors: obsession_inc, annakovsky, and honey_wheeler, all in the space of half an hour, with a journal she'd just created.
So Sarah Stegall/munchkyn_mom/death_tax also posts to a sports forum. Her IP address is 216.142.75.231.

Exact same IP -- 216.142.75.231. Remember that.
[I believe the fact that Sarah Stegall has two different IP addresses is a work/home divide; if you do a basic traceroute they're from towns six miles apart, one of them a company IP and the other a residential Comcast account.]
(She had also previously reviewed all these fics with her neverenoughjam account, so this is looots of double reviewing as different people.)
Anyway, the plot thickens... over on TWOP, NEJ was praising her own X-Files fic. Alas, her TWOP posting days were cut short, when she was apparently banned for presumably unrelated issues the same day she took her fic offline. (January 6).
So what was NEJ to do given that she had sworn never to post fanfic to the internet again? Create sphinx_aeternam: sphinx_aeternam's livejournal account was created on January 13 -- the only person who has her friended is neverenoughjam. (Her MoreThanThat profile says: "The Sphinx is silent.").
sphinx_aeternam e-mailed annakovsky asking how to join scranton_times (she fills in on the newsletter when I'm out of town or, uh, drunk or whatever). (A: It's a closed community, you friend it to see updates.)

This next one is guesswork, so feel free to take it with many grains of salt. However, given all the above, I don't think it's that much of a stretch: Confirmed, see below.
paradigm joined TWOP the same day NEJ was banned. (You have to be logged in to see that, I think.) She also left a nasty flame for honey_wheeler praising NEJ's "erotica" -- a term NEJ always insisted on using. And she recced sphinx_aeternam's fic Threat Level Midnight here and left feedback for it at MTT.
There are two others pinging my sockpuppety radar -- new accounts with strong relationships to one another or NEJ and few or no links to other people -- but I'll stop there.
eta: sico_kitty confirms IP matches at MTT for both paradigm and JamFan, as well as sphinx_aeternam.
eta2: Okay, given all of the above, I'll add that I'm fairly positive madlove on TWOP is another one. Formed the same day as some of the others & posting in NEJ's regular threads. Here she is reccing NEJ's fic.

Anyway. I would like to stop being flamed, please. I would like other people to stop being flamed, please. I'd like the general underhandedness and nastiness and weird subterfuge to stop. Whatever, it's just fic. I don't know what her deal is -- I'm just tired of waking up to nastiness in my inbox.
