Spend some time walking the line

Hmmmm. Last day at Highworth ever. Not exactly what I'd pictured.

It really felt like no one gave a toss that we were leaving. It didn't seem like they'd made any effort for us at all. The Leavers' Assembly was a joke. No one was there that I gave a toss about. I don't like Mr Danielson and his speech felt more like a lecture than a farewell. "Are you a winner or a whiner?" Fuck off, you tosser. It would have meant more if Mrs Lee had come back and done her Laurie Lee speech. Goddammit, I really wanted the Laurie Lee thing, it's tradition. It didn't even feel special when we got the "priviledge" of leaving the hall before the teachers.

Mrs Down was at physio so we couldn't give her the present the year bought as she's leaving too. But she did come and find as many people as she could when she got back.

The refreshments thing was a joke. Only a handful of teachers came to say goodbye. Mr Hall had a chat with us and Miss Pickles chatted with Alison and I. Actually, Miss Pickles was probably the highlight of my day, which is just wrong, as a)she's never taught me and b) that was the second conversation I've had with her in my whole 7 years at Highworth. WTF.

Well cheers, Highworth. Nice way to send us off.

The rest of my day, however, was excellent. I actually got to see my friends for the first time in a month or two! Kirsty decidedthat I wasn't easy! Hahaha.

After we sent Kitty off, Kirsty, Jemmy and I walked to Starbucks. We spent nearly two hours there just chatting away. I sat in a rather fabulous purple armchair. It was strange actually being able to sit around and chat after spending a month locked away in my room working. We had a good natter baout the future and uni and stuff. I thought Kirst was a bit pushy, going on about Jem's future. Jemmy, dear, you don't need a definitely life plan yet at all become a florist, just enjoy your bloody summer, woman.

We then, rather randomly, went to Jemmy's house and to the beach. Was rather fabulous! Hythe is very pretty, and I saw Cannongate nursing home. Was quite surprised about how much I recognised. Had a v. lovely drive. We got ice cream (omg mint magnum!) and sat on the beach and threw stones. I paddled a bit and took lots of photos. Fabby.

We got back to Jem's and threw grapes a la the time when we threw potatoes into the woods. V. odd. I watched a few cartoons with Iain, had a bit of a chat with him and the buggered off home.

So, now I'm a free woman. No school. Ever.
