Cosplay: Lady Cheri at AX 2011

Jul 06, 2011 17:08

I've been super hesitant to post here asking about KKM cosplayers that were going to AX, but now that it's come and gone...
I ran around as Cecilie, and I did happen to find a group of KKM cosplayers.

Okay, first my ranting for a bit.
I spent about a month gathering and putting together my Cecilie cosplay. Had to re-seam a few times to make things more form-fitting, and I had to restart on one piece since my slit ended up way too high. But over all I'm pleased with the results.

About a third of the people that took my picture were females that knew the character. Tapping me from behind and asking if I was Cheri or them rushing over screaming her name. Ah, that was so much fun. The rest were... well, all men. I'm sure a good majority of them were professional photographers, but I knew some of them were just taking a picture because of my knockers - lol. I found it amusing though, and didn't mind the attention. Lady Cheri would love the attention, so it came with the territory. Only one guy actually ever bothered me since he kept trying to talk to me as my friends (dressed as Avatar Airbender characters) and I were wanting to get to the AMV rescreen line.

Since the AMV ended up being full, I sat around waiting for the KKM showing only an hour later right next door. (The heels I was wearing were extremely uncomfortable, so I didn't want to go somewhere and walk back. The Dr.Scholl's high-heel pads I bought actually caused me to get blisters with the way they fit into the shoe. >.< ) The first girl that took my picture had told me there was a Yuuri/Wolfram/one-of-the-maid groups running around, so I know that the KKM showing would be the place to find them. Before it started, I found a Gwendal.

And then I got to sit behind the KKM group that the girl had mentioned earlier. I was too far away to yell at them at first to meet me afterward, and by the time some people moved and I scooted closer, the show had started.
The 2 episodes they decided to play were from the second season "Mazoku, to Earth" and "Big Brother's Anguish" in English. They were good and fun episodes... but not really a good choice of random episodes to show if you want to get a new person into the series. The guy behind me kept making comments about the mentionings of Yuuri and Wolfram being engaged, and I wanted to turn around to say that the series isn't a shonen-ai at all. It was a freak accident that they're engaged, and it's rather a joke through out the series (as much as many of us would like it to be otherwise, I think it's there for the laugh). Many people moaned about it in English, but I think they got over it when we got to laugh at the voices as characters appeared. I could deal with some of the voices over time, but a few just sounded so odd in comparison to the Japanese I was so used to.

Okay! So picture time!

I found these flowers in front of a business building while walking to Denny's and I just had to bug my friend to take some pictures. Sorry I don't have any others. We parted ways a few times, and I didn't really get anyone to do a "photoshoot" for me. Oh, and besides the logo, Photobucket's BlueMoon painting feature, is pretty nifty. (Click the last one to see it bigger and you'll see what I mean.)

Too bad this Gwendal didn't stick around for the group shot.

Ah, and I was so devastated that I handed my camera to the guy that stood off to the side and took a side angle. But look, there's the Yuuri and Wolfram. A BOY!Yuuri to boot. Sangria the maid, and poor Shouri hiding back there. If the Yuuri hadn't been a boy that seemed to be dating the Wolfram, I would have put my boobs on him. True to Cheri's character, I was dying to do it to someone. >.< I got to hug some of the KKM fangirls though.

Fashion tape and adhesive bras are AMAZING! You know, just FYI. XD

conventions, shouri, gwendal, wolfram, sangria, cosplay, cheri, yuuri
