Hi all,
It's me again and like I said, I became a fan of KKM and of Wolfram/Yuuram only recently. I've watched the whole anime and read every bit of the novels that is available in English, but I still have a question regarding Wolfram's feelings for Yuuri. At the beginning, because Yuuri is half Mazoku and half human, Wolfram looked down on him the

Then comes Greta. Some people might think that Greta's one of the reason why Wolfram and Yuuri gets so close, but I personally think, even if she wasn't there, both teens would still get close and Wolfram would still fall for Yuuri. Greta is there, and therefore the process quickens; because this gives them a chance to bond as a family. I wouldn't dare to say as far as Wolfram doesn't get such chance when he was little--we know next to nothing about Wolf's childhood after all. But Greta's being there definitely makes Yuuri and Wolfram's bond tighter, as well as quickening the progress of their relationship.
Wolfram never hates Conrad. I personally think the reason the he acted so hostile towards Conrad, other than his pride and stuff that we already understand and elobelia said up there, is because he might have felt betrayed. Conrad never told him that he was half-human--Wolfram found out without even preparing himself to find out about that. Add to the fact that Dan Hiri left Cecilie--which, if you saw it from the eyes of a little boy, might have been like the most horrible and unforgivable act no matter what the reason. And that Conrad most probably had been the closest person to Wolfram when he was little since Cecilie and Gwendal was busy with Kingdom affairs. The episode when Yuuri had a time-slip to the time when Conrad went to war and Wolfram asked him to spread the flowers named after Conrad, I think, is proof enough that as he grew up, Wolfram realized that Conrad was not at fault at all. Wolf's just too stubborn and proud to apologize properly, though. And to act kind so suddenly towards someone whom you've shunned out of your life since you were little would be hard for someone like Wolf, wouldn't it? All these doesn't apply to Yuuri, right? So of course it's easier for him to warm up to Yuuri than to Conrad.
Oh my God--this is why I thought I should make a manifesto or something. I tend to ramble, see. I'm sorry! Yuuram is one of my absolute OTP, after all--and you're asking something about the progression of their relationship and if there's something that makes me love Yuuram so much, it would be their progress of relationship. That, in my opinion, is what differentiate Yuuram from other pairings. It's not just about the hints, it's about the progress--and it makes Yuuram beautiful. :3

In any case, Wolfram's just too proud to admit that he is fond of Yuuri and Conrad. As you have seen in the 'Betrothed VS Fiancee" episode, he didn't admit that the reason he was engaged to Elizabeth was because of an accident slap XD
Wolfram sees himself as the guardian of Yuuri and constantly looks out for him, taking it as a duty as a soldier of the Demon King in the beginning but it later evolves into him looking out for Yuuri because he genuinely cares for Yuuri.

As for Conrad, I always know that Wolfram never hated Conrad, but at the same time, he never admitted his care for Conrad to himself or to others. However, he did admit to himself the feelings he had for Yuuri. Precisely because he's as proud as a peacock, it wouldn't be a small thing for him to change his attitude so much as to openly pursue Yuuri. Anyway, I understand why he would have more trouble accepting Conrad than Yuuri. Sibling relationship with a long and complicated history is always tough to deal with.
I totally agree with your analysis regarding Wolf being Yuuri's pillar during Conrad's betrayal arc, during the cliffhanging rescue as well as during the journey across Holy Sand. Oh, the last scene in chapter 7 novel 14 is beautiful! One of the scenes that show the true bond between the boys.

My favorites are Being a Sunflower, Hymne of Two Souls, and Sunflower's Letters.

And yes. Yes yes yes. xD xD xD Wolf's stubborn as ever, but that's why we love him, no? It's part of his charm. It works on Yuuri, too. xDDDD And yes, novel!Wolfram is much, much stronger than in the anime. I mean, in the novel Wolf told Yuuri that he wouldn't cry if Yuuri had to go back to Earth and wouldn't come back to Shin Makoku. But anime!Wolfram cried. I'm not saying I hate Wolfram's portrayal in the anime... the novel! Wolfram's just much more...strong and stable. And charming. *is bricked*
And again, yes! Sibling relationship is more complicated than lovers' sometimes. Siblings are close, but at the same time, it makes it harder to say "I'm sorry." There's the bridge between siblings you can cross anytime, but sometimes it's harder to cross it than to do anything.
Chapter 7, novel 14. Wait--I think I need to re-read the novel. xDDDDDD It's been quite some time~~~
