Episode 98...suspicions about the Maoh (Spoilers warning)

I just finished watching episode 98 and wondered if anyone else has noticed that Yuuri's Maoh mode is different from before...like it's much more darker and scarier. The music isn't like that Japanese period drama stuff from the previous seasons and it sounds like some operatic RPG boss fight music. With the Maoh as the BOSS! When the Maoh uses his powers in this scene everything turns into darkness and destruction and there's even a creepy looking shadow giant rising from his body. It looks just like the shadow thing terrorizing the town in the opening animation. When Janus and company are running for their lives, Janus says, I think, that "it's just like Soushu." Like we thought that Yuuri defeated Soushu in episode 78, but is it possible that Soushu got sneaky and hid itself inside Yuuri? Is that why Shinou is still around?
Another thing is about the rusty, gold sword which has negative effects on those with maryouku...could it be possible that it'll be used later to subjugate the Maoh if he gets out of control? Like the Maoh could end up being the last boss in season 3.
