Finally in TN

Dec 25, 2003 08:30

The move to TN is finally over, it actually ended Tuesday night but it took me time to recover.
I was supposed to leave Monday morning, but because of how much stuff was left and how long it took me to clean the apartment, I crashed in IL for a few hours and then left on Tuesday morning. Now my neighbor hood is fairly safe, but I didn't trust leaving a TV and computer in the car, as well as Eddie and the Corset, just in case some Rocky fan drove by :-) So, I unloaded the body of the car. The next day I reloaded the car. The drive was going ok except for the rain. I stopped at a rest area just on the north side of Indy. When I was walking back to my car I noticed that the front right tire was flat (Yes, I'm Brad). Now the trunk is fully loaded and it's raining. I put most of the stuff in the trunk into the drivers seat and leave a few things on the ground next to me. I've changed a tire in the rain before so it was no big deal. The trunk was a little tighter with the full sized tire, but I was able to get all the stuff back into it and head off. A few miles from the boarder I stopped for gas and noticed the spare was loosing air. When I was filling it up with air, you could hear the air coming out a puncture. I went inside the service station and asked them if they fixed tires. They did, so I unloaded the trunk into the drivers seat (still raining) and some on the ground and got out the tire. When inflated the tire had a huge split in it and was unrepairable. The mechanic started looking for a new tire for me. This was a small station and they didn't have any that would fit the Saturn. When I finished reloading the trunk the guy had found a shop that had a new tire that would fit. I drove about 4 miles on the spare that is still going flat. I unloaded the trunk into the drivers seat and the ground. Yes, it's still raining. They replace the tire and I reload the trunk. It cost $53, but to be back on the road was worth it. The rest of the trip was uneventful, except the rain got heavier. About 1 hour outside of Kingsport the rain finally stopped. Unloading the car was easy with no rain and I had done it so many times, it was becoming routine.
I'm going to be posting more since I won't be seeing most of you as much.
Thanks to everyone that showed up at my final show, you almost had me crying for real at the end of I'm going home.
Thanks to the Pink Invaders for the party after the show. It made for an interesting evening ;-) Also, thanks for having me in the cast of the past 5 1/2 years, it will always be my favorite cast.
Thanks to Amanda and Rachel for the goodbye message on my video camera it had me in tears, although I would also liked some hot lesbian action, yes I'm a pervert.
Finally, thanks to Ruth for letting me stay in IL for an extra 9 months so I could get my 2nd Degree Black Belt.

Remember, I'll be back the 3rd and maybe the 2nd week in Feb.
