Twenty-Sixth Match [Video / Action]

[Ryohei is juggling

FLAMING. TORCHES.

His shirt and the bandages on his arms have some singed places, and there are several spare rolls of bandages on the gross near his feet, but for the most part he looks spectacularly not-on-fire.

Who knows how long that'll last.]

this is probably a terrible idea, juggling is almost as cool as boxing, c: catalina, c: seimei, ~*~sparkly text~*~, c: helena, *video, c: hibari, *action, c: road, c: jean, c: rogue, c: allen, c: j, bandages are an any time look, c: alex

[Well, that sure is a thing to accidentally access the feed of. Alex's voice has a cautious amount of "whoa" in it.]

...That's gotta take some nerve.

I'm an extreme guy.

[He drops one of the torches, but manages to catch the others before stomping it out.]

[Alex wants to have a casual conversation, to see if he even remembers how to chat to someone about something that isn't life-or-death. So he's trying to be relaxed, although his eyes do dart occasionally to the side of the screen, checking out of nervous habit that no-one else is listening in.

It's probably worth mentioning that the room behind Alex is dark - he has no windows, and he tends to keep the lights off - except for the vague shapes of furniture and a row of tiny red lights somewhere in the background. His face is lit by the screen.

Now that the overlong scene-setting is done, we can get to the part where Alex half-startles when the torch gets dropped, then grins a bit at Ryohei's recovery, impressed.]

Obviously. How long'd it take to learn that?

A few weeks. Helena taught me and it wasn't that hard, but I practiced a lot so I could to stuff like this.

[If he's noticed how dark Alex's room is, it doesn't occur to him to mention it.]

It's something to pass the time to the extreme.

[He grins a bit more.]

It looks awesome. You could perform or something.

Haha, thanks! This isn't what I'm best at, though! I'm better at boxing to the extreme!

So is that bigger and better than the non-extreme kind?

[...he had to.]

[He laughs. He's used to people making fun of him, and much less good-naturedly than this.]

Everything I do is to the extreme!

Better than doing things by halves.

[Okay, this guy is pretty awesome.]

Yeah, exactly! You get it.

[Much more upbeat than your paranoid/crazy buddies from home. :|]

Hey, how come you keep your room so dark?

[To a degree that is extreme! *rimshot*]

...Oh.

[The grin falters.]

Just- prefer it.

Yeah? [For the moment, he doesn't seem to notice if he's making Alex uncomfortable.] Does the light hurt your eyes?

...Yeah.

[Let's go with that!]

Yeah, I mean, they're sensitive. You know.

[Ryohei'll buy it.]

I had to have a fight where the lights were so bright I couldn't see once. That was bad to the extreme.

I still won, though!

Wow, seriously? How'd you manage that?

I used salt crystals to break the lights!
