Okay, so summer pornathon was my first thon and well... i'd be lying if i said i enjoyed it. I never felt accepted or part of my team... :(
I went into it thinking it was gonna be the best summer i'd make new friends and be challenged and just have fun. But from the beginning it was kinda clique-ey and i tried really hard, i commented and supported all my teams entries and cheered them on in bonus rounds but no one ever really returned the favour or really spoke to me...
don't get me wrong there were a few nice people but i ended up scared to talk to anyone because i felt like a little unlikable noob. The challenges... eh... by week 4 and 5 i was really tired of churning out the same stuff every week and my writing actually suffered from it instead of improved the way i thought it would. I don't think many people really enjoy my style of writing in this fandom anymore which sucks because my writing style really suits the merlin verse, but all anyone seems to be interested in is modern AU and... if i want modern stories i'll go to a modern fandom, in merlin i want legend and magic and battles and all the things that should be merlin. I mean i don't mind the occasional modern aU with a good storyline but really canon times were the minority which makes me sad.
I have been kinda disillusioned by the merlin fandom after this summer, so i'm doing my horror promt collab with merlin and then i'll be doing a goodbye to the fandom piece and moving on. It's sad but it's just time for me to move on.
In other news I entered the FixIt BigBang, another first for me, i've never done a bigbang before. I'm going home to the xfiles for this one. *snuggles up in between Mulder and Krycek*
And i'm playing with the idea of entering the CWbigbang too... hmmmmmm....... but for now yeah BYE!
