Just finished watching a few things:
Anime: N.H.K (Nihon Hikkikomori Kyoukai) 24 eps of slice of life crazyness. I love socialogical commentary, so this was one of my kind of shows. It is a little heavy on the metaphorical on occasion though. However I'd certainly recommend this anime to everyone. It's a great show about anti-social behavior. Especially about people that can't cope with modern day culture, and how that same culture influences them. This anime runs the full gambit of emotions. It's litterally a biography of a shut-in, who through odd circumstances, has to face his fears in ranges from drama to hilarity. My personal favorite part of the show is when the focus was on anime/otakudom and MMORPGS, but what do you expect. :)
American boxoffice: Spiderwick Chronicals. While the movie theater is pretty barren with "Step up 2 - Back to the Streets" and "Jumper" being the fare of the day.....omg...I know people that went to see those huge piles of.....annyyway. SWC was actually a pretty good movie. I wasn't expecting much at the end of the "Potter" wave but I was pleasantly surprised. Not exactly a young kids movie, with the constant threat of being killed by the baddies, it's more of a young adult movie. It has ofcourse the typical draws of this genre's sterotype, but it's actually well done and ties together quite well. I'd recommend it if you haven't seen it. It's worth the ticket.
