Seriously though, I did it!! This afternoon I posted to my role-playing group's site and let them know that, effective immediately, I thought it best if I leave the group. I did not blame anyone or allude to it being anyone else's fault because the honest truth is that the responsibility lies solely with me.
I have been unhappy with my character and my writing of that character for a long time now. I felt as if I was just 'going through the motions' and to me, that was a doing a disservice to the other members of the group.
I'm not sure if any of them will understand my reasons. I've received only one comment, and that was from the moderator of the group. She said that she understood but somehow, she turned it around to be a commentary on her and her life, but that's okay.... I'm happy.... I made my decision.... I executed it... and life goes on!
