I THINK I MAY HAVE A PROBLEM
Nintendo, why do you have to make such awesome preorder bonuses for Alpha Sapphire? And why do you have to release the best ones outside of the US? All the Alpha Sapphire bonuses are Kyogres, which means I need them. I NEED ALL OF THEM.
Current list of preorder bonuses I want need:
- Primal Kyogre figure (UK version)
- metallic Alpha Sapphire box (UK)
- Primal Kyogre figure (Japan version)
- Primal Groudon figure (Japan version)
- metallic Primal Kyogre poster (Japan)
- Primal Kyogre/Groudon poster from Gamestop (US)
and they keep announcing more.
Thank goodness I don't really care about the Japanese art book. (It has more than just Kyogre and Groudon on the cover, which makes it "not Kyogre merchandise" as far as my collecting rules are concerned.) I've cared about a Japanese art book exactly once--the Fire Emblem 20th anniversary edition--and finding it for less than $60 was a nightmare.
At first I thought that finding a middleman for the UK bonuses would be near impossible, but I may have found someone on the comm who is willing to do it. Fingers crossed...
I'm not too worried about getting my hands on the Japanese figures. Those are pretty easy to come by if you know where to look and don't mind paying $10 each. However, I AM worried about getting my hands on the Japanese metallic poster, especially finding someone who would be willing to ship it in a poster tube so it doesn't get damaged. Does anyone know a place I can get the poster? Or, failing that, would anyone be willing to middleman the Japanese version of the game for me and ship it in two separate packages (a tube for the poster, and a box or envelope for the game + figure)? I know of a few online sites that will let US buyers preorder the Japanese games, but I don't think they include the preorder bonuses. :(
I'm frustrated by the US Gamestop poster too. I didn't care about the poster until I saw the art, and then I suddenly cared immensely about the poster. I know I could technically get the Gamestop poster myself... but I hate Gamestop with a burning passion because they've screwed me over too many times (and they're generally incompetent). Plus there's no point in getting a poster for a preorder bonus when I could get a $30 Charizard plush from TRU instead, resell it to make part of my money back, and buy the poster for a couple of dollars off a US friend.
Speaking of US bonuses, pokemoncenter.com needs to hurry up and announce their preorder bonus. My best guess is that pokemoncenter.com bonuses will either be the Japanese figures or something completely different. Right now I'm not sure which I would prefer. On one hand: more Kyogre things, YES PLEASE! On the other hand: I vastly underestimated how much money I would need to save for the Alpha Sapphire release.
I am going to end up with five copies of this game, four of which I won't be able to play because the stupid 3DS is region locked. I just know it.
