FOOD IS DELICIOUS + apparently I'm sexist regarding Pokemon
Every summer I tell myself that I will eat healthier foods and exercise. The intent is to lose weight, or failing that (since the only way I've managed to lose more than five pounds recently is to become so ill that I completely lose my appetite), to redistribute my weight so I have less fat and more muscle.
And then things like this happen:
That is a banana and strawberry shortcake parfait.
Mmmmmm, bananas...
I have no regrets. This parfait is delicious.
Eating healthier foods is a lost cause with Halloween right around the corner anyway. I'll try to be better after Halloween.
I don't know which day I'm supposed to be on on the Pokemon meme. Let's say day 23 because... I don't know. Just because.
Day 20 - A Pokemon that makes you angry.
I hate Skymin. Shaymin was one of the few gen 4 Pokemon that I actually LIKED. Then Skymin came along and suddenly all the cute Shaymin merch vanished in favor of Skymin merch.
Skymin reminds me of a cross between Chopper and a failed Eevee evolution. (Also, it has a watermelon slice protruding from its neck. Surely I am not the only one to have noticed this?)
Day 21 - A Pokemon that shouldn't be able to be a female.
In my mind, 75% of all Pokemon species are male, no matter what the true gender ratio is. Never mind that this is completely illogical and that you would need an exponential number of Dittos to ensure that these Pokemon didn't become extinct. Here are a few examples of Pokemon that are always male in my headcanon:
Of those, the only one that makes logical sense is Alakazam.
Day 22 - A Pokemon that scares you.
Lopunny, also known as the Playboy bunny. LOOK AT IT! It has fluff boobs and ears that defy gravity. It's a wonder that its tiny neck hasn't snapped due to the weight of its giant ears, eyebrows, and head. Then there are the legs, which taper down into tiny feet. How can this Pokemon stand up at all? The poor thing also looks like it has a permanent crick in its back. (I used to have a mild case of scoliosis and had to bend my back like that. Fixing it was not fun, and involved some physical therapy.)
In short, its anatomy freaks me out. HOW DOES THIS POKEMON EXIST?
Day 23 - Your favorite legendary Pokemon.
Kyogre and Mewtwo are my two favorites, but since I've already answered with both of those, I'll pick my third favorite: Lugia. I thought he was cool since the moment he was revealed, but the second movie made me love him.
He's a bird that can swim in the sea despite the fact that he's a FREAKING BIRD. Oh, and did I mention that he isn't a water type? He can also create whirlpools and water tornadoes at will. And movie Lugia seemed like a pretty cool guy.
I like Lugia so much that I'm pretty sure my self-insert trainer captured a Lugia, one way or another, in all the crappy fanfic ideas that I imagined.
For the record, I ship Lugia and Articuno. In my head-canon, Articuno is a defrosting ice queen (har har har) and Lugia
is a nice guy, if a bit of a playboy, who finally relents to giving Arti another chance after getting betrayed by her once. So why did Articuno join the other birds to attack Lugia during the movie, you ask? They were having a few hundred year short spat. They made up after the movie. See, fits into canon perfectly. Problems. I think I might have them.
