I had a great weekend.
It started off on Friday, where most weekends tend to start. ...umm, so I don't quite remember what I did on Friday. I REMEMBER! I went to the mall for a little bit, something I've not done in ages. I magickally found Mark (as usual) and followed him to Johnathan's house, where he played with his little puppy and watched...whatever was on. Afterwards, we ventured to the house of teh Lukas and did typical Luke's house stuff. (DO YOU LIKE MY NEW JEEEAANS?!)
Saturday, I went to Evansville to see a show I've been waiting for for many months. Gratis played at 1123 with a few other punk/hardcore bands. The others were ok; Gratis was the shit. I don't know how to describe them, but you should
check them out on MySpace. They're kind of experimental/hardcore, I guess you could say. They use so many awesome FX that I've never heard before; that's what makes them so fucking awesome. After we left, we went to hang out with Kyle and some people. It was...entertaining, to say the least.
Last night...fucking rocked. Taking another trip to Evansville, Kevin and I went to see Trapt, Chevelle, and Nickelback last night at Roberts Stadium. Wow. Trapt opened with one of the best performances I've ever seen. They sound good on the CD - they sound awesome live...unless you're Sunny. She disagreed, and I was sad. ::tear:: ANYWAY... I'd never seen the people from Trapt or Chevelle before, but they surprised me again. Singers always look different than I expect them too - Daryl Palumbo is a prime example. (more on him later) But the opening bands were great, and the headliner (Nickelback) kicked ass. They used lots of pyrotechnics, which made me real happy. XD Chad Kroeger is hilarious. Apparently, he likes teh drugz more than I knew. ("I wrote this next song...while I was [on] mushrooms.") Yeah. And he cusses like a sailor. He was SO funny. They were great though.
One of my new idols is Daryl Palumbo. He's a recently discovered god. Not only does he kick some ass in Glassjaw with his amazing indescribable screaming, but he completely turns it around with Head Automatica, a more mellow chill band. I'm in love with both of them. Daryl is another of those whose looks shocked me. While we're on the subject of music, Atreyu's newest Album, A Death-Grip On Yesterday, is also a great album. I am fortunate enough to be among those that have received the album before it's release next Tuesday, and I'm happy. Look forward to "The Theft" and "Ex's and Oh's". "The Theft" is unlike anything Atreyu has ever done before, and at first I didn't believe it was them.
Lengthy post, eh?
Oh. I cut my hair...I was sad, but I'm used to it now. We're starting dreadlocks, so right now there are just little twists all over my head. It's funny, because I look British. Even moreso with the new scarf my sister made me for my birthday.
I believe it's time now to go and do my work for government.
