Wow.
Soooo...after telling my mom what happened....that was kinda ...it.
She asked me a little about people at the party (mainly just college-lives updates), but then we haven't talked about it since.
She actually took me out to lunch (today's my last day at the office) and then to D&J's (a swimming goods store) for a new cap and googles.

Every time she's been level-headed, smart, and very understanding. Even as straight cut as she is I get the feeling she can deal with pretty much anything.
Hell -I- am almost as straight as her and I have no problems understanding practically anything my friends do aside from hard drugs. Just because someone is straight as a lace doesn't mean (s)he can't understand where someone is coming from. It's just a matter of knowing the situation, the surrounding circumstances, and everything else involved. You went to a party and had to sneak out because of a horrible curfew that she already opposed (If I'm reading your previous entry correctly). You also said that any "rational" parent would expect his/her child to sneak out with something like that imposed at this age.
I'm willing to be she expected it and, as such, can understand what made you do it. She was worried because it was the first time she had EVER caught you and, as well, it was the first time you'd not gotten back when you wanted to in order to prevent anything. Of course you're going to freak out after that but, once everything is blown over (which, apparently, happened pretty quickly) it's not too much of a stretch to sit down and figure everything out. Your mom's more than smart enough to do that and more than rational enough to even understand it.
You're damned lucky to have her as a mom, Suze!
