Soooo.....I totally ate it in lacrosse practice today.
Basically, the field was a mud pit, and I was stupid enough to practice sans cleats. Yeaahh...I just had my already-horrendously-muddy running shoes on. No bueno. Anywho, it was in the last few minutes of practice (during scrimmaging) that I fell and twisted my knee, falling on it directly. I was seriously screaming out in pain--pretty intense. I'm pretty sure I felt something give way in my left knee.... : / So, after some of the girls helped me off the field, a couple of guys passing by took pity on me (I was crying), and helped me get to the trainer's room inside the gym. The good thing was the field was right next to the gym. The bad thing was that I was moving about three or four feet every 30 seconds. That may not seem like that slow, but trust me, it was an eternity. Eventually they got me to the training room and had me lay down on this long bench, while one of the head trainers (who I think primarily works with football players) looked me over.
All in all, they won't really know what happened to my knee until I go back tomorrow, and then they may have to refer me to an orthopedic doctor. They told me that sometimes when injuries like this happen, your muscles tense up and go into "protection mode," meaning that they can't really tell the underlying problem because of all the swelling and tensing of the muscle. So, they iced my knee for me and lent me some crutches.
Anywho, I'm just hoping that I tweaked my ACL, or just sprained my knee or something. I'm far too active a person to be down with this. >___< Immobility sucks, guys.
I'll let y'all know what the doc tells me tomorrow. Cross your fingers for muscle shock~! : D
